Lord Joyde The Madman: Heylo, Everyone! How're you all doing?
I just experienced one of the most soul-crushing things that a writer can experience.
... I wrote this chapter once and then clicked the idiotically placed "search" or w/e is next to the Maximize/Minimize button, thus ruining my entire chapter as I didn't use the preview function at all.
Fuck. This makes me mad.
This also means that the chapter before you is a repeated-write, which also means that its probably going to suck concrete balls as my morale is currently at an incredible low.
Still, I hope that you enjoy... and that someone fixes this impossibly stupid design choice before I flip a table.
Don't mind me guys and girls! I'm just a line break...
The Following Evening - Istvan's Manor - Rhean's Point Of View...
"Good evening, master. Glad to see that you have finally woken up." A new voice echoes in my ears as I open my eyes to find myself inside of an unknown room with an unknown ceiling.
Its made completely out of volcanic slate-stone and the furniture around me seems to be ebonwood, a material that is not native to Azarest but Gradur... which means that it's probably older than two hundred years and comes from the time of my Empire. I believe that I am in Istvan's Manor. Turning around to face the girl who woke me, I find myself momentarily stunned as I lay my eyes upon a devastated and beaten slave. Using my Living Aura on instinct, I realize that her heat is out of proportion around her head and back.
Hmm, a beast-race, it seems."Master? I do not remember buying a slave. If you must be respectful, then call me Emperor or your Majesty instead." Nodding at me obediently, she continues, her bloodied black hair waving as she extends a hand towards the door.
"Your new council is waiting for you, your Majesty. I have been ordered to guide you to the chamber where they reside." Another bow as I let out a massive sigh."Well alright then... lead the way.. uhh.."
She tilts her head in confusion before replying."This one does not have a name, sire."
I can already feel the rage within me growing."Oh really? And why would that be?" I ask as she opens the doors leading to a long corridor made of marble and giant windows showing the still smoking ruins outside. It will take a lot to repair the damage done to the city yesterday... I'd best make use of the player base, which means I need to make a guild, which means I have to make a trip to the Adventurers Guild.
"Slaves such as I do not have a need for names..." She frowns before I ask again."Does that mean only human slaves have names?" She stops dead in her tracks, shivering horribly where she stood. Watching her standing paralyzed there reawakened a form of rage I did not feel for a long time.
Time to sow some Chaos. I approach the young woman from behind and place a comforting hand onto her shoulder."Come now, drop that idiotic illusion. Is your master a member of this... council of mine?"
She nods, slowly."Y-yes.. he is one of the human nobles in this city..." She mutters out weakly as her cat ears form and her tail erupts right out of what little clothing she constrained it within. A cat-girl, how wonderful."One of them? And how many Human Nobles are there in this city? Oh, and your new name will be Tiara."
Her eyes grow wide as she repeats the name silently before replying."There are only two as of right now. My master and his younger brother."
"Good. Do me a favor and point your master out to me when we see him, alright?" I tell her with a bright smile on my face.
Finally reaching the giant door to the chamber where my supposed *council* resided, I nod towards her as she opens the door to reveal a massive room with an oval table and twenty chairs, only three of which were occupied.
"Tsk, finally." A smug, fat and rather ugly human man gutters out, several slave-girls serving him a constant supply of treats and food. A pig to the slaughter. I send a glance towards Tiara and she nods, this is the one.
"O-Oh, you've arrived! I-its n-nice t-to s-s-see you a-again, Mr J-Joyde!.. no, wait, you are R-Rhean n-now? S-sorry!" The ever so adorable frame of Luciana jumps into view as she bows before me apologetically.
"Ah, you look just as magnificent as before, your majesty!" A rather familiar Lunarian male elf exclaims as he stands up to greet me, one hand on his chest and another high in salute.
"Always knew there was something special about you... but to think that you're Rhean himself... Well whatever, its nice to finally meet you, your majesty." The Guard Captain who saved me from Sel's ambush two days ago salutes me and I nod towards him.
The fat-ass noticed Tiara's disillusioned form and screamed in outrage."HOW DARE YOU SHOW YOUR FILTHY SELF IN FRONT OF THE EMPEROR?!"
I let out a massive sigh as he ran over towards us, it was quite a funny sight to see all that blubber attempting to move quickly."Please excuse me, your majesty! I need to teach this stupid little bitch a lesson in respec-guargh!" I couldn't even let him finish talking as one of my fists grabbed him by the throat, a hand whose skin has already started burning hotter than liquid metal."A-A-A-A-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!" The swine screamed high into the air as the horrified onlookers found themselves incapable of turning their eyes away, even the innocent little Luciana couldn't bear to stop.
Laughing as the pigs last vestiges of life were cast away, I promptly dropped the fresh-corpse in front of Tiara and looked her straight into her terrified eyes."Hungry, little kitten?"
She gulped down hard."Y-you d-don't m-m-mean?"
A grin was cast towards her as I turned around to look at the three remaining member of my so-called council."There's nothing wrong with feeding my cat some pork, is there?" They each swallowed hard and nodded with equal disgust and fear cast upon their frames. I laughed and turned back around to face a shaking Tiara."Go ahead, girl. Give in to your rage, your hunger... I'm sure there's quite a lot of it that you had to repress."
Within moments, the girls yellow eyes turn red with fury and hunger as she launches herself upon the corpse, tearing into it with a sickening squelch. Luciana quickly stood up and lurched into the corner of the room as the guards behind me stared onward horrified, paralyzed in complete fear. Turning towards the rest of the cat-girls, I speak with maddening laughter just barely scraping across."I hear this little pig had a brother. Would you know of this brother?"
They nod and my grin only accentuates the insanity currently clear upon my frame."Then go. Tell the guards or anyone who dares to cross your path that your new Emperor wants his head... I wouldn't mind having the rest disappear."
|You have managed to crush a rebellion before it has been formed, albeit by using horrifying methods.
+Relationship with Human Kingdoms will be 50% more difficult to improve.
Whatever. I shake my head in annoyance as I throw a look at the cats.
Their own bestial instincts awaken and within an instant they were out of the room, a trail of wind following behind them as I let out a laugh, my right hand draping across Tiara's backside, eliciting an approving purr from my new cat. I've always loved the feline members of the beast-race, their instinct makes them automatically seek out a pride lord/lady to follow, making it much easier to command them should one's confidence be high enough. Turning my head back around, I land my eyes upon the trio."Now then, let us finally start this little... meeting."
They gulp, still utterly paralyzed."Well? Introduce yourselves!" I bark out a command, which seems to have woken them up from their horror. To her credit, Luciana is the first to speak."W-well, a-as you already k-know, I am Luciana, one of this town's merchants. I-I h-have been b-brought h-here b-by Zyl'mael, a-ah, the gentleman n-next t-to me, t-to serve a-as your Economical Advisor and connection to t-the M-merchant G-guild."
"Zyl'mael? Were you a servant at my castle some two centuries ago?" The elf's eyes grow wide in surprise and all of his terror seems to dissipate within seconds as he bows."Y-YES! Indeed, it is as you say, your majesty. I am h-here to serve as your Chief Researcher, as I have been this town's librarian for over a century now, plus I have lived during the time of your previous Empire.. I have also brought s-several d-documents with me here in order to aid you in changing whichever policy or ethical problem you w-wish." A little lisp, but he seems alright enough. Quite young-looking for someone who is over two-hundred years old, but elves usually are.
Finally deciding to introduce himself, the guard captain speaks with pride in his voice and a quick, but quite-polished, salute."The name's Charles Thorin, your majesty. Zyl told me that you often used to choose your commanders personally and that he felt I was the best candidate for that job right now."
A nod from me."Aye, that I did and still will do. Hmm, how old are you right now? Twenty-five? Maybe thirty at best?"
"I'm currently twenty-seven, your majesty." He says somewhat surprised that I guessed it right on the mark. Another nod for me before I turn back to Zyl."Do you have access to the Empire's training schedule, Zyl?"
He nods."Y-yes, there is a basic volume within the Library. I believe Mr Thorin is very well acquainted with it, 'tis one of the reasons why I chose to bring him to you, after all."
Then I turn towards the captain."I assume that you've studied it thoroughly, General?"
He blinks."G-general? Well, yes. I have learned much from the volume... but it is incomplete. Why do you ask?"
I shrug, can't really expect an army man to get everything at once."Then go and use it to re-train all of our current troops. I want everyone to know the basics by next week. As for the volume being incomplete... given the fact that I wrote it myself, it should not be too hard to restore it completely, but that is for later."
|Your town has gained the ability to train "Imperial Soldier".
Currently, you have 150 town guards being trained to become soldiers. (Length of training dependent on morale and supplies)
"Yes, your majesty!" He salutes me and leaves, a grin upon his face as he motions for the two guards to follow him, which leaves the room completely empty other than the three remaining people and I. A soft purr reaches my ears as I turn around to see that my new cat has finished her meal, promptly leaving nothing left of the fat pig. I blinked in confusion as I stared at her body. It no longer looked devastated sure, but he had at least a hundred kilograms, where exactly did the AI store all that meat.
Urgh, game logic. Anyways, though her rage has mostly dissipated, Tiara is still in her animal mode. She looks at me with wide, adorable eyes which would be extremely cute if she wasn't utterly drenched in blood. Oh, what am I saying, shes still adorable!"Its okay, you can come." I promptly tap my lap twice and she wastes no time leaping into it, causing Luciana to adopt a crimson blush on her face and Zyl'mael to clear his throat while looking away.
Letting myself lean into my chair, I continue petting Tiara as I turn to look at Luciana."Well then, let us continue. What do you have for me, Luciana?"
She yelps in surprise before showing me a map of the surrounding area."A-as your economical a-advisor, I have p-prepared several.. potential opportunities which are currently available. Currently, there are three things which we can do... First, we can focus on repairing the damage to the city, but as we lack the materials to do so, we will need to cut down much of the nearby forests and damage the ecosystem around us. Second, there is an ancient mine that was abandoned by our ancestors relatively close to the town... what little information we possess of it suggests that it holds the necessary machinery to create the stone which this town was originally built with, this would speed up the process of repairing and save us from the potential wrath of the forest's spirits, but it will also cause many of our town's people to not have homes for the duration. And.. third, is Zyl's idea..."
She turns her head away, meaning that she does not agree with it at all."Well, what is it?" I say somewhat annoyed.
With a gulp, she continues."Zyl has offered to lead an expedition into the Ancient Laboratory you conquered recently... he believes that uncovering its secrets is the more important than anything else right now."
And I kind of agree... but with the political and ethical changes I'm about to bring, that might not be the best idea. I need to keep the populace as happy as possible, after all."Lets go with the second option. Make sure to ask Charles for guards when you lead the expedition to re-acquire the mine... unless I decide to do it first, but go make your preparations either way."
"Yes, sir!" She salutes me and leaves the room in a hurry as I turn around to face Zyl."Now then, lets get to the good part. I'm sure you-"
|Quest Alert - Reclaim The Mine!|

Really. I shake my head in disbelief as the blue screen disappears and a troll-face image forms in my mind."Harold, go fuck yourself."
"You seem a bit out of your element today, bro? Something happen?" The reply I got from the AI made me shake a bit as I unconsciously squeezed Tiara with my hand."NYAAH!" She moaned loudly, causing a certain reaction to reveal itself to me.
Ah. I think I know why I'm such an asshole today... not that I'm not an asshole normally but you get my point."Sorry, Harold... I think I might need to get laid IRL soon, that's all. Sorry about that, really."
"Hey, hey, its fine. I mean, its not like you know how hard it is to shit out grammatically correct blue screens for over two million people simultaneously. And besides, I've already told you that I don't write quest screens anymore." So not only was that an undeserved insult, but also proof of me not really listening to him.
Whatever, I'll just shut up now. I re-open my eyes to find a rather fidgeting Zyl in the corner of the room, sitting in his chair while shaking. Seems like I'm not the only one who needs to get laid. He notices my stare and clears his throat."A-ahem! Are you ready to set the policies and ethos for your new Empire now, mi lord?"
I nod."Yes, please explain our current situation."
He gulps."A-as you w-wish, sire. We currently possess three main ethical orientations which are the same as the Human Kingdom under whose influence we were until recently... here they are..." He seems rather dispirited for some reason.
|Paranoid Xenophobia||Patriarchal Individualism||Hypocritical Materialism|
|The other races are strange and impossible to fully understand.
They are to be kept at an arms length away from us at all times...
That, or on an iron leash.
|Only men have the form of mind necessary to rule.
Women should stick to raising children and serving their husbands.
|We understand that material wealth may not be everything.
One's soul has needs of one's own...
But that does not mean we won't hoard wealth whenever we can.
|- Races other than your main race must either be slaves or servants.
- Cannot trade with other races.
- Cannot enter into any form of political deals with other races.
- War with other races grants your main race a happiness bonus.
- Extermination Wars are allowed.
|- Can only hire male leaders
- All female population receives a debuff to happiness.
- All male population receives a buff to motivation.
|- Cannot go below 2000g in treasury unless the situation is dire.
- Should the treasury fall to below 2000g, the population will become demotivated.
- Can lead "Light Crusades"
- Receive a 10% bonus to Income generation
"Oh dear god..." I begin with anger quite clear upon my frame as Zyl lets out a massive sigh."Well... I suppose I should have warned you... these ethos are a basic insult to everything you worked for."
That they are, but it just goes to show that this continent isn't quite ready for me to leave just yet."The maximum ethos one can have is four, right?"
He nods."That is correct. Would you like to change our ethos right now, sire?"
"Hell yes, I do." I answer nearly instantaneously and he grins, taking out an empty parchment and dipping a quill."Very well, I am ready to start writing whenever you desire to begin."
"Lets do this..." I manage to mutter out before I begin clicking away at a blue screen.
First off, lets do something about our military. What kind of person am I when it comes to the military? Hmm, I guess I'm kinda paranoid. I don't trust anyone at all, even the small and weak can land a massive blow if you let them prepare long enough.
|Only by making sure everyone around us shares our "opinion" can we ever be truly safe.
Weather we reach an agreement with others or have to use force in order to achieve that is another story.
|- Border friction is enough for us to enter into a war.
- Instantly declare war on any weaker Empire with who we share a border.
- All Population will gain a small buff to motivation/happiness while at war but also a debuff while not at war. (Debuff not applied if we have no shared borders with other Empires)
- All Production/Income during peace receives a -5% penalty.
- Trade Agreements with other Empires will remove the population peace penalty for their duration. Repeated agreements do not stack.
- Only allows for Liberation Wars and Conquest Crusades.
- Gain Double Clout from Rivals who are more powerful than you.
"That's perfect, I accept!" My exclamation shook Zyl enough for him to drop his quill. He quickly grabbed it mid-air before it fell onto the ground and cleared his throat again for the umpteenth time today.
Although the penalties to literally everything may not seem like much right now, when you put that on an Empiric scale, that 5% can be quite a lot. Oh well, I guess I'll deal with that later.
What should be next? Oh yeah, Individualism. Fuck. That.
Collective societies for the win. Everyone is equally below my feet, as I liked to say before. Oh my god, how bloody arrogant and conceited does that sound? Can I also ask who cares? Nobody.
|As individuals, we must acknowledge the fact that each and every one of us belongs within a select society.
We must also make sure that no matter what our own personal goals are, we do not cause damage to the whole...
Or we shalt surely face the consequences...
|- All Population gains the "Terror and Respect" buff, permanently maximizing their loyalty to their leader but also increasing their motivation by 10%.
- All Production/Income/Happiness statuses receive a penalty of -5% for the first two weeks of receiving this ethos.
- Citizens are divided into three groups; The Bound, The Unbound and The Ascended.
- The Bound are citizens who did not pass your test, thus are deemed capable of only menial labor. They are not slaves, but they do fit the category of "third class citizen".
- The Unbound are citizens who passed your test, thus are deemed capable of any form of labor. They are the secondary-class citizens of your Empire.
- The Ascended are citizens who have distinguished themselves from others, thus earning your favor. They are the ruling class of your Empire.
- Population purges are permanently allowed.
"That will do, I suppose. Any idea what this test of mine might be?" I ask Zyl with a somewhat confused glance and he lifts his glasses before replying."Well, I believe that means the mandatory intelligence exam that the citizens of your empire had to write before they could be accepted as anyone."
Ah, that thing. I was wondering if it still existed."So do you have a copy of it in the library?"
He nods, thank god."Of course! The MIE is a vital part of Azarestrian culture... besides the fact that most of its population didn't have the brains to pass it. I regret to inform you that it may be even worse this time"
I wave my hand in annoyance."I figured as much. Please do us all a favor and force everyone in the town to take the test as soon as possible."
He bows."Of course, your majesty. Have no fear, the people of this city have been studying and living as pseudo-Azarestrians for as long as I can remember, they will pass the test... most of them should, anyway."
"Mrrr..." Another delicate purr echoes in the room before we continue. What would be next... Oh yeah, the little problem called racism. Well, I guess its my fault for not really caring beforehand but.. meh, it'll be better this time. Chaos does not discriminate, after all.
|Chaosborne Xenophilia (Unique)|
|As the representatives and avatars of Chaos, we must learn to free ourselves from the curse of linear thinking.
Things such as race and sexual orientation must never be what defines us, not one of us as a person and not us as a whole.
All things; dark, light and otherwise are welcome within our Collective!.... so long as they are alive, that is.
|- Cannot ban gay/lesbian marriages.
- All races are equal, except the undead, screw them!
- All Population receives a 200% bonus to growth rate, a 20% bonus to Production/Income and 10% bonus to happiness.
- Enemy Empires gain the "Uncomfortable" debuff when interacting with us.
- Gain a 20% bonus to everything while at war with an Undead Faction.
- Cannot lead Extermination Wars unless the enemy is an Undead Faction.
- So long as there is more than one race within your Empire, all Population gains a +10% bonus to happiness.
"A Unique ethos just for me? Oh my, ... Nope, I'm not surprised at all." I mutter out before realizing that this is most likely my fault as well. Although, that 200% bonus to population growth may pose a problem for the in the future... I don't like leading acquisition wars...
"Yes! I can finally get myself a real man!... Sorry sir, but I was getting sincerely tired of having to force myself to lay with women." I give him a blank stare as I let out a sigh. I knew there was a reason why I remember this guys name, he's gay."Good for you.. now then, what's next?" I mutter out as I descend into thought again.
"Sir, I must warn you that even if you may add additional ethos, they will only be 50% effective." Zyl says with a saddened smile. Ah, I figured that might be the case."Will that change sometime or?"
He nods."Yes, it is possible. Should the population of your Empire grow, additional ethos will become available at their 100% efficiency." Welp, I guess that's it for now then.
I let out a sigh."Fine then, that's enough for now. Lets take a look at our policies."
With another nod he hands me another document.
|War Economy - Static (No change to economy during war/peace time)

"Everything seems to be in order... but that is bound to change as my empire grows. Be sure to inform me of any such changes, Zyl." I spoke with a commanding voice, causing the man to give out a shiver."I shall do as you say, your majesty."
"Mrrrmm..." Another purr escapes my cat's lips as she stretches, exposing her breasts without a care in the world and I let out a chuckle as Zyl shivers again."I thought you hated laying with women?"
He gulps."That does not mean I cannot appreciate the female beauty... especially one quite so... wild."
I quirk an eyebrow at him."Ah yes, I remember. You had an orc for a boyfriend, didn't you?"
Another nod as he takes the documents and forms them into a neat pile."That is correct sire, although I would prefer not to talk about the deceased." I let out a sigh."Sorry, I know orcs are short-lived creatures... I should have kept my mouth shut."
He waves his hands defensibly."N-No, I didn't mean any respect... 'tis only that I miss him... A-ah, in any case, your majesty! There is but one problem left remaining."
Another quirk of an eyebrow as I look at him."Go on?"
"I have mentioned being your Chief Researcher, yes? Well, I would like to be given something to research, basically." He states rather bluntly and I feel sorta stupid for not getting it immediately. With a rather audible ah, I reply."Well, I believe that the first thing we should focus on right now would be the Organization of my Empire, mainly how there were no villages and only city states. I want you to do some research about the Empyrean Plantations."
"You mean the massive farming areas which produced all of our food during the time of the Empire? I believe a ruin of one such place can be found nearby... ruin because it was overtaken completely by the forest, its dryads and spirits alike rushing to lay claim to the fertile soil. It will be difficult to acquire it from them without a fight... but that is not my job either way. Good luck sire... oh and, Welcome Back."
And with that, he was gone. I turn my head downwards to face my cat to find her utterly silent and blushing redder than a tomato."Well someones finally out of it."
She leaped out of my lap as quickly as she leaped into it half an hour ago."S-sorry, s-sir! T-this o-o-one b-begs your f-forgiveness!" Her bowed head only makes her cuter.
I let out a cheery laugh."Hey now, its not like I didn't enjoy it. You're quite cute when you let your inner beast take over."
She just stands there, utterly paralyzed in embarrassment and silence as I laugh even harder before eventually stopping myself to ask."So, you interested in becoming my companion?"
"C-c-c-companion?!" Managing to mutter out before blushing even harder, she raises her head upwards to look at me."Yes, companion... or maybe you'd prefer cat or kitten?"
Shaking her head in negative, she replies."O-of c-c-course, your m-majesty!...but what exactly does this.. job, entail?"
Grinning at her as I pull her closer to myself, her tattered clothing barely protecting her remaining modesty."It's simple, really. You come along with me where-ever I go and help me fight, carry some of my burdens, secure yourself a position of power within my empire and so forth."
She gulps."A-a-and w-would t-this j-job a-also e-entail m-more p-p-perverse requirements?"
Shes completely pressed against me now, heated breaths hitting across my chest, her scent.. undeniably alluring."I wouldn't call them requirements, more akin to an... eventuality, rather than anything else." And then I abruptly let her go... perhaps I'm moving a bit too quickly, she's had plenty of time to be raped by that pig beforehand. I should probably give her some space first before I cross any form of line."Of course, even if I'm an Emperor, if you tell me to fuck off then I will." Hands to the sides, as if I don't care, only to make her bite her lip in raising jealousy as she gets the message.
"Even if you deny me, there will always be those who don't." I chuckle darkly as the sentence replays in my head, one of the many reasons why women can't resist assholes.
Letting out a maddening bit of laughter, I turn around and place a hand onto her shoulder."That said, before you make any such life-altering decision, you may want to take a bath. Feel free to use whatever faculty this mansion has to its fullest, alright?"
".... You deserve it..." I hear her silently state as I turn around, a momentary grin forming on my face as I reel her in like a trapped fish."Hmm? Did you say something?"
"You... freed me from slavery... gave me a home... offered me companionship.. saved my friends... all in a single day. You deserve it... my body.. after all, its the only thing I can give you..." She whispers so silently that I'm just barely able to hear it. Quickly deleting the smile off my face so she does not notice it, I lean into her ear."Girl, if I wanted your flesh, I would have pushed you down and taken you on the table in front of everyone."
She shivers with each and every word I say and I let myself flash her an animalistic grin before continuing as I lean out."That said, perhaps we could take our time and clean each other in the baths right now? What do you say?" A bright smile breaks her out of her stupor and she swallows hard as she replies."I... I think I'd like that, your majesty."
"Oh come now Tiara, Rhean will do just fine!" Another beaming smile is all it takes to throw the young cat-girl into another blushing spree.
I laugh, its moments like these that make me remember why I loved this game so much!
Don't mind me guys and girls! I'm just a line break...
And that's it for this chapter of EUPHORIA! I hope you liked it!
This might be the last chapter for this week and the next, as I am moving to another city.
If, that is, I don't find the time to do the for-sure last chapter tomorrow... which is unlikely but entirely possible.
Anyways, read and review! And Good Morning/Day/Night to you all! ADIOS FOR NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
