Dwellin Dorr doesn't want to fix the broken world around her. She wants to break it further.

A child of the gutters and the volcanic Ashlands, Dwellin is meant for greatness. Just not the kind everyone else wants. Quite the opposite, in fact.

They call her the Pestilence of the Gutter Vale, blame her for the Blaze of Canarva, and rumour has it she cut down the Blightlord himself on the Roaring Steps. But every story has a beginning, and Dwellin has all that to come. For first, she must survive the streets and the punishing industry of the Ashlands.

Recounted by Dwellin herself, Somebody Has To Be The Dark Lord is a tale of how the chosen one's path does not always lead to light, but to darkness instead. A mix of Renaissance-era Mediterranean fantasy, dark humour, mystery and magic-filled action, Somebody Has To Be The Dark Lord is a journey to a different kind of greatness.

Overall

This story is extremely high quality, in both narrative and prose. It's a tale from the past, being recounted by the main character, a murderous dark lord. I'm really quite happy that I found this masterpiece, and I'm certainly enjoying it. Honestly, I reccomend this to pretty much anybody, as it is just that good.

As of chapter 9, the story has been very well written. The story is about the MC telling her past. The world is gritty and dark, the lords are fat while the orphans are everywhere.

The characters are vibrant and well written, and the MC especially. The story is told in first person perspective. The character interactions are written well. There are no plotholes, contradictions, nor grammar errors, as far as I could see.

Highly recommend this. I can't wait to see how this story grows!
