On the battlefields of Europe, the bloodiest fighting of The Great War has just begun and the blood of tens of thousands is spilt each day. Blood that will be soaked into the earth and awaken something long thought impossible.

This is my entry for the royal road community magazine challenge, if anyone is unsure the prompt given was – and then the sun went out.

I am looking forward to give this my best shot and will likely update once this story every Sunday.

Bloody Brilliant (pun intended)

Reviewed at: Chapter 3: The Enemy?

This war story has a great attention to detail, both in terms of graphic descriptions, and anchoring the setting in real-life events. (I think someone who’s better versed on WW2 troupes and frontline locations will enjoy this even more).

The prose feels very intention when it unitizes literary devices such as repetitions to accentuate the overall atmosphere.

Both of the main characters, as well as all of the supporting cast, have very distinct voices, making it easy to know who’s talking at any given time.

What more is there to say? Not much, as per usual when writing reviews for excellent stories. Oh right, I hope the author posts the next chapter soon !
