Alternate Title: The Snake Goes Ara Ara

By cruel trick of the fates, intervention of stupid gods, or just the apathy of an uncaring universe I find myself woken up as Orochimaru just after he had possessed a woman for his new host. Now I need to find a way to turn this hoard of sycophants and psychos into something that will not only keep me from an early grave, but also how to change it to a force of change in this messed up world.

Best fanfiction I've ever read

Reviewed at: Chapter 31

As someone who has watched an unhelathy amount of Naruto, I can honestly say I enjoy this version of events far more than the offical one.

Orochimaru was one of my least favourite characters in the show, but had Orochimama replaced him, she would have been my favourite!

This story is very well written and the author has done a great job of keeping true to the world Masashi Kishimoto created. By making only subtle changes, as Orichimama's actions and words cause small ripples, the story remains close enough to the original to keep you on the edge of your seat, while being different enough to keep the reader engaged.

Featuring some (or many) of your favourite characters the author makes small chages to the original story, so that many side characters, who didn't get much time in the original, are now front and centre. This change in perspective and increased relevance of previously minor characters makes the story feel fresh and new ... something that says a lot about the authors ability when that story has as much content as Naruto!

Overall a thoroughly enjoyable read for someone who's enjoyed (some of) the original Naruto story!

And even if you nothing about the original, this version is certainly worth a try!

It's just fun, and a very good fanfiction.

A fanfiction where a prexisting story is used and a author puts their own twist into the story or characters. This author changes a older Naruto villain nearly entirely, while keeping some small parts that are key to the character.

I wish I didn't have to write 50 words for a story that only has 20ish chapters (so far).

This author saw a glimpse of God

The bad? There are a couple of spelling mistakes in each chapter - like 1-2 small letter mistakes. He also doe not have allowed the reader correction comments, so it does not seem like they will be spotted and corrected soon. Another problem is the slight lack of descriptions of characters to make them more distinguishable from others. The author assumes the readers have a basic understanding of Naruto characters. The extent of this is: the characters are not described much or not at all. This is probably a non-issue for most tho.

The good? Everything else???? The characters are believable and the universe is portrayed beautifully so far. It is naturally funny due to the complete insanity of it all. This story is just ~~cheff's kiss. Just read it. The worst that can happen is finding yourself google searching characters of naruto.

Sometimes authors get a glimpse of God and the dimensions beyond. This creates ideas that are too good for this world. I will fight a puma bare handed if that makes the author continue clanking the divine printing machine.

Comments for the author: Just patreon and shuttle up and away brother. We require more of this.~Ara~Ara out.

Give it a go, MAMAMA MAMA!!!

This is actually really good! Characters are in tune with their manga counterparts, which make for some hilarious moments. I recommend anyone a fan of Naruto to give this a try. Only complaint I may have is that some of the sentences are grammatically incorrect, and could use a comma or two.

One of the best fanfics I've read. Does a lot of things really well, but I'm gonna focus on the few flaws it has.

The biggest flaw it has is the style, in that for whatever reason it falls into the same trap as lot of fanfics where it decides to use Japanese terminology for stuff that has perfectly usable English translations. Stuff like "Otogakure no sato" or "yondaime" where the meaning gets lost unless you are familiar with Naruto and know some Japanese. Why not just call it the "Hidden Sound Village", and use "Fourth"? The anime did a pretty good job of balancing what terms were left in Japanese like Akatsuki, rasengan, chidori, hokage, jutsu, etc. while translating stuff like shadow clone, tailed beast, water release/style. A good rule of thumb would be to translate stuff that offers information, for example hokage doesn't need to be translated because knowing what it's literal meaning is doesn't matter and it doesn't translate well into english, but knowing that the yondaime hokage is the fourth hokage does matter, and so it should be translated. Same with the villages, it's confusing to people that aren't super familiar with Naruto to call them by their Japanese names rather than their English ones.

Also to do with style, very occasionally a line comes off pretty cheesy, but there's only maybe two of those lines so far, so it's not really that much of an issue.

Only other flaw I'll point out is that some chapters have a real issue with maintaining a consistent tense, particularly some of the action ones where it switches back and forth between present and past tenses, making it difficult to read. I'd suggest trying to keep to past tense.

Other than that pretty much everything else is great. Characters are good, story is good. Writing is good. Keep up the good work

Lone elephant

I love it. I'm a big fan of Naruto and this story hits all the right spots. I'm at chapter 9 and I love this story to bits. The quirky Oruchitama is on her way to being one of my favourite characters. I wonder if I'll ever look at Oruchimaru in anime and not think about her.

I'd advise people who haven't seen Naruto to give this one a pass. The story is assumes that you already have a good deal of knowledge about Naruto and Naruto Shippuden.

A fanfic that is big on doing its own thing

Reviewed at: Chapter 34

This series does something thats the biggest strength of fanfics: it makes its own story by developing the secondarycharacters

Instead of directly invading the main characters, the MC does a lot of preparations in what would be the background of the main plot, and in doing to injects a lot of personality to the c-list characters

Most importantly, every character keeps their original personality, so it totally feels as if im reading Naruto, and this fidelity to the original seting allows for any chages made by the MC to have plenty of weight, as her main goal is to prevent the bad stuff by interacting with others, instead of directly becoming OP and solving everything, as fanfics tend to do

Is like how Naruto had Sasuke to move the other side of the story, now Orochitama adds a third party

Reading with a huge grin

Orochimama might be the most fun body swap story I've ever read. I've read ahead some on other sites, and I can say without any doubt that Orochimama is a must-read for anyone with even a hint of interest in Naruto fanfiction. It's the subversion of a villain done in one of the best ways possible.

Just read it, you will not regret it!

This story is fantastic. It's just the right amount of light hearted humor, with enough serious tones to keep it grounded. The characters are likable, the cast has good chemistry, and the plot actually feels like it's going somewhere. We still have a ways to go, but all things considered the story has been a great ride so far and I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes in the future.

9/10 would highly recommend it.
