When Avery crosses over to the Prehistoric land of the Chinese myths, accompanied by a game-like system, he is eager to start his new exciting life and dominate the world.

Unfortunately, he is stranded in an inhospitable land devoid of life, and the system is barely enough to keep him alive. He has to honestly rely on himself to get stronger, and without guidance he needs to pioneer a cultivation technique suitable for him.

A solitary life of meditation, slowly delving into the secrets of the universe, forging his own path and making the best of unfortunate circumstances.

Maybe one day he will triumph and escape, revealing his brilliance for the world to see.

Hi, I am the author vaurwyn. I am a huge fan of complex magic systems, so this is the major theme of the book, an ordinary man exploring a Taoism-inspired magic system.

it is an amzingly written story and pretty darn interesting. it also seems like and incredibly difficult thing to write but I just cant get super into it its a little repetitive and its more of a thoughtproject written down in the form of a story instead of an actual story itself.

I have personally very much enjoyed the first 29 chapters of this novel and am cautiously hopeful that it shall continue on.

The formatting as well as the grammar were, if not flawless, nearly so, and the main character's inner monologues were engaging. I also think that there are many avenues the author could take the story.

He could decide to not join the Tao after all, become one with it ,or walk a completely different way. Those are only some general thoughts, though.

Slice of life elements could be integrated, he could journey through this new universe if or when he becomes an immortal, and so on and so forth.

Keep up the good work!

This is one of my favourite cultivation story's. the reason for this is that unlike most cultivation books the sole focus of the book is cultivation. The story from chapter 2 and on is about a man wondering in a desolate plane doing nothing but trying to survive and cultivate. It's also a not a classic western cultivation story where science is giving him a massive leg up.
Quick warning chapter 1 is nothing like the rest of the book so give it a bit before you drop it

A positive surprise (Writhaton 2021)

Reviewed at: Chapter 3 : Blacksmith

I discovered this story through the 2021 Writathon challenge.

Although I’m not a huge fan of Chinese-inspired settings and 'system isekai' I did enjoy the first few chapters of this story a fair bit.

Let's start with the protagonist. His name is Avery and he comes from out world (duh). I love how the author fleshed out some of his personality traits and flaws in the first chapters. For example, although he calls himself a coward, he still makes hard decisions (like when he disrupts the teleportation circle knowing full well that it could kill him). He also isn’t overpowered right off the bat, making his progression feel earned

This story isn't free of the occasional typo, but nothing that would distract me from reading. I also appreciate that the author justified his text, making it easier to read on PC.

The other minor thing (I’m not going to call it an issue because it really boils down to personal taste) is the fact that system notifications aren't in a box. But there are no more system notifications in the later chapters, so this really isn’t anything major.

That's it for me. Good luck to you, author, I hope you successfully meet your Writathon goals!

im just confused. you introduce things like they already where there and change his personality up so quick. the rewiind thing did not fit into the story and the guy went from coward to im a chad real quick, he shrugged of the fact that the system wouldnt do everything for him way to quick atleast for his personality and if he has this rewind power why didnt he just rewind before the portal?
