WELCOME TO THE RETROFUTURE!

The Future That Never Was is an extended universe where Mars was terraformed before the Beatles sang Penny Lane, the Soviets colonized the asteroid belt and pirates plundered the rings of Saturn. In this alternate space age, humankind couldn't dream of a brighter future. Alas, the minute Earth turned into a nuclear wasteland, shadows already conspired from the heart of the Moon to the mysterious Planet Nine—and maybe beyond...

The book series includes numerous R-rated titles. All of them will be uploaded on Royal Road. Check the Index or the list below for the main stories.

Even thought I can't call this story rule breaking it still is original and so much unique and on top of that the mc (for me) IS A CAT. I a cat lover could not be more  than happy about this.

The world building is amazing and the comic aspect of it just make's it better.

In the end this is a unique refreshing story that will at 100% break the algorithm

Love the vibe, characthers, everything!

Reviewed at: #3 - THE INELUCTABLE DUEL
Opening /Story - First off, I love the narrator/pov character. I have to say I was expecting a nicotine-dependent talking cat to be our guide through this bizarre 80's sci-fi world of Kitty Kitty. It was a really awesome choice by the authors. I'm really excited to see more of the hijinks our intrepid & jaded pair of bounty hunters get into.

Style - The authors are just having fun with their story and world and that's what I love to see from any piece of fiction. You can really tell that Quentin and Aliénor have a passion for geek/nerd culture from there many pop culture references they drop - Captain Caveman XD - Yo I'm here for it!

Grammar - Nothing major here, the grammar was really well-polished. Everything was pretty easy to follow.

Characters - This is the part that usually makes or breaks a story for me, and I have to say this was a make moment. Ali and Lee are hilarious and I would follow them anywhere in the galaxy, presuming that Lee lets me drive, lol.

Guys and gals, if you love wacky space hijinks with characters that are one part badass, one part mess but fully awesome nonetheless, then this series is well worth your time!

This story is really different than what I usually read in RR. I don't know how to best put it. It's whacky, whammy, funny, full of references and surprises. Put them all into an episodic format space opera setting and it blows up in a confetti of fun.

The human-cat duo is very fitting in the story. Their antics, especially the cat's grabbed my attention from chapter 1. the world-building is amazing too. Definitely many hours have been put creating it and many hours more polishing it. Kinda... space cyberpunk with guns and sweets. Does that make sense?

The grammar is good. It has some mistakes, but it didn't stab your eye. Some french that doest quite fit in English. On the other side, the words used depicted the colorful world of KK. Wonderful. It's sometimes too detailed but only a minor thing. It's dialogue-heavy. personally I prefer a lighter amount of salt in my dish but the cook has their own style. As long as the finished product is good then I won't complain.

While the story focused on the human-cat duo, the supporting characters arent put in for the sake of being there either. They give their own unique flavor to the story. The two MCs are still my favorite, especially Lee the cat. That feline's thoughts about human things from the cat's point of view really take the cake... or pizza.

If you like a story about space cowboys in a rich wild west space, give this a try.
