The Perfect Run

by Void Herald

The Perfect Run is now available on Amazon Kindle

Ryan "Quicksave" Romano is an eccentric adventurer with a strange power: he can create a save-point in time and redo his life whenever he dies. Arriving in New Rome, the glitzy capital of sin of a rebuilding Europe, he finds the city torn between mega-corporations, sponsored heroes, superpowered criminals, and true monsters. It's a time of chaos, where potions can grant the power to rule the world and dangers lurk everywhere.

Ryan only sees different routes; and from Hero to Villain, he has to try them all. Only then will he achieve his perfect ending... no matter how many loops it takes.

The Perfect Run updates on Tuesday and Saturday. Cover by Vitaly S. Alexius

I cant stop laughing and crying

Reviewed at: 38: The Olympians

When I first saw this pop up on RR and it was gaining traction, I decided to wait a bit as I thought it had potential.

Fast forward a month or two and one massive binge later...I am surprised that no one called the cops on me for how loudly I was laughing and rolling on the floor while reading this....followed by smashing things and questioning my existence(/s??)

Great story, great characters.

Original and entertaining

Its a great read, i recommend it to anyone who likes 'superheros' stories. :D

first time writing a review i wanted to keep it short but need to be 50 words long rip so im just writing this to add to the word count lol lmao XD great story hope to read more of ittttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

like most things that void herald wright this is great, to summarise without getting into spoilers i'd say that it has buildup and there isnt and endless progression it has an end in mind and that elevates his writing becuase its no meandering inexaustible plotlines that burn out its selfcontained and that's what make his storys great becuase they are planned as storys

This is Void Herald's, so you know it's guna be gud.

Real review: The MC has OP power but limited by cooldowns and the human body. He is witty and hilarious, to the point I heard Ryan Reynolds every time I read his line. He is a chaotic good murderhobo and he is awesome.

The plot is good, our MC trying to travel the world to find his long-lost girlfriend/ bestie, in a world of post-apocalypse dystopia with PR-slave superheroes, bands of cannibal drug-addicted lunatics, and supervillains running the underworld.

It has humor, touching moments, and badass fighting scenes with explosions. Only a few chapters so far, but I have a high expectation for this.

Boom shakalaka

time chronomancing crazies shenaniganery

Came here for a good time not a long time

But temporal powers make a long time actually into a short good time

fun story great pacing world building and characterization as expected from the author of vainqueur

Strong recommendation to enjoy this story!

A story that fills the void in my heart

Reviewed at: 42: Progress Made

I've read Void Hearlds other fictions and I can safely say that this does not disappoint any of his previous work. The style is comedic and wacky but can easily get deadly serious. Which gives the author a large amount of room to expand his characters while still keeping the tone of the story the same. The Story itself is too young to accurately rate right now but so far has been a blast to read. I only took off the half star because it's a superhero story and the media has been saturated with those a lot. At the very least the source of the people's powers is all the same mostly which I am thankful for. I may change this score of Void Hearld takes the tropes of this story and flips them on their heads in all the right way but we'll have to wait an see. The Grammar is great with no instances of misspellings so far. The characters are where this story falls a little short, I think with a story like this. And if you've read his other works. Hearlds characters are a little hard to love, sure their funny. But it takes a few chapters to care what happens and a few more to love them. I think it's gotten better. Since I know what to expect with his characters I began to like Ryan quicker. I think with this story the flaws I just talked about may be changed quicker. Now that the author has experience.

My First Void Herald Work

I can finally say that I get why this author is rated so highly - absolutely fantastic first few chapters! I honestly didn't expect the writing to be this funny, but I'm 100% glad for it. Of course, now I'm obligated to check out his other works and potentially lose the next few days to them.

I quite enjoyed vainqeer the dragon and absolutly loved never die twice. You just dont quit man . Your stories let me discover the treasure trove that is royal road. Im not really interested in hero books in general but this one seems pretty good from the first chapter already

Author is a genius at comedic sci-fi and fantasy.  Great worldbuilding, memorable MC, ok is supporting cast.

Not as good as V&V from VtD - which shows the benefits having a straight man to blend with the comedic and disruptive MC.   Solid effort for any book - 5 stars on RR standards.

Fun - funny - clever - fast paced - a joy ride!

54 chapters in (because that's all s/he wrote so far). It was a good day. I just wanted to find out what happened next - each chapter.

just when I thought I would stop, it sucks me back in ... Oh yeah, and the pop culture references.

great world building.I am enjoying learning about the context and the wars and the tech. the "potion/magic system" is fascinating. It is interesting that the powers are on or off - there doesn't seem to be any development in power, only in the skill of leveraging the power that suddenly exists.

I am curious about how deep the author is intending to go into the lore of the system - can the geniuses reverse engineer the various realms? What will happen with the black?

Good superhero style dynamics and banter. So many characters to like, especially the MC. He is extremely likable even if he is not morally inspiring. They are surprisingly human vs. tropes - even though the author is not shy about brashly playing with tropes. It makes the whole read more enjoyable.

I have zero thoughts on grammar and spelling - I don't notice or care either way. I just know if I enjoy the story.

Such a great ride. Looking forward to more.
