Dragan Hadrien is a low-level administrator in the Supremacy, the most powerful civilization in the galaxy. In the Supremacy, 'might makes right' is written into law - if you're strong enough to take something, it's yours. With the mysterious power of Aether, a light of the mind that grants abilities unimaginable, one can uncover lost knowledge, crown themselves a king, or even seek a position above that...
For Dragan, however, his primary concern is getting a promotion and taking it easy for the rest of his days - and he's well on his way to doing that, until he finds himself snatched by a gang of dissidents and dragged into the kind of dangerous adventure he hates more than anything else.
With the barest knowledge of Aether and combat, can Dragan survive in a galaxy quickly growing drunk with war?

High Quality Space Fun!
Reviewed at: 1.10: The Leap
The story is very clean and well written, clearly edited.
I found the various complex terms mentioned a bit jarring and confusing, but as I read further it wasn't much of a problem. In fact, I was rather intrigued by the various factions in this exciting space opera and what their motivations are.
The world building is solid, the effort put in it is being displayed, and Dragan is an interesting protagonist although I find him a bit meek at times. And I absolutely love analytical main characters, so it's hardly deal breaking for me.
It's just getting started though, so it's hard to say anything except I'm looking forward to more!

The most based space anime opera ever

Disclaimer: I am a friend of the author (the one he mentioned in note 1.3 that helps him read it), but I promise you I am giving my completely earnest and unbiased review. I've been criticizing his works for years now objectively. Furthermore, this review was written as of 2.1 being the latest chapter, so the majority of the content only relates to the 1st arc.
Style: The paragraphs are spaced out neatly in the page so it never feels too hard to read- no large blocks of text to worry about. I'm not sure what else style really means on here, but in terms of writing the flow and the descriptions are also enjoyable and help the reader envision the world as they follow along with Dragan. My one criticism in this regard is that sometimes I feel like he could add a bit more with scents in terms of describing locations, but otherwise everything feels excellent.
Story: The story has a couple of cliches and is a bit 'anime' (which I personally love but isn't everyone's cup of tea), but it functions well as a vehicle to drive the characters towards their development, which is really where the work shines the most. Otherwise it hits all its beats without any issues, and in particular the climax between 1.14-1.18 (particularly in regards to 1.15) was enticing and masterfully pieced together.
Grammar: The author has been a writer for a long time and it shows- his grammar and sentence structure are excellent, the only reason I give it a 4.5 instead of a 5/5 is because there are a few minute instances where the wording feels strange to me but is technically grammatically correct. Otherwise does well and reads like a professionally authored book you would find in any library or bookstore.
Characters: This is truly where Aetheral Space shines the most. The characters are alive and interesting, complex and ultimately human (despite many of them being sub-species of humans, hee hee). They feel like real people you could meet and interact with, and their personalities, as well as the tiny pieces of their backstories that have been hinted at thus far, keep the reader itching for more, constantly crafting up theories and feeling excited for what's to come or how they will continue to develop. My personal favorite is Muzazi- someone I originally found boring who I gradually over time came to love. By the time 1.15 came around was when he was cemented as my absolute favorite character, but all of them are excellent. 2nd place would probably be a tie between Dragan and Skipper, maybe leaning towards Skipper. The story may be what you come for, but I promise the characters are why you'll stay.
Overall I've seriously enjoyed this web serial and am excited to continue helping my friend Tanhony read it. If my opinion changes drastically I will probably come back and edit this review (or post a new one, however it works), but honestly if you give Aetheral Space the time of day, trust me you won't regret it.

Great world building and characters. A bit too anime for my tastes, but other than that it really is captivating.
I’d like Tanhony to plug the Canon Renaissance Contest.

Aetheral Space has been a consistent source of entertainment for the past months, and I try to catch up on this series whenever I get the chance.
It took me a few attempts to wrap my head around the first five or so chapters, but after the first arc I knew I had found some gold in the rough.
My only criticism would be the anime inspired dialogue and personality types, that sometimes can be a bit over the top in some characters. At the same time, however, the characters are usually the best part of the story and are the main pull for me to keep reading this sizeable series.
I wanted to save my review for that special day when I was caught up with the most recent chapter, but seeing as I'm only a few away, I couldn't help myself.

This story has a great setting, with just enough world building before it feels like an exposition. So far has it me hooked and i cant wait to see where it goes. Writing style and layout make it easy to read, following when a character perspective change happens is ok but could be made clearer.
Some of the side characters seem a bit one dimensional but overall enjoy there interactions with the main cast. Can honestly say I was never bored whilst reading it. One of the other reviews called it a Space Anime and I cant stop seeing that now.

I'll change this to a proper review once I'm done reading through the entire story, but what I've seen so far is pretty amazing. The characters are well fleshed-out, the plot is difficult to predict while rollicking along at a good pace and the humour isn't too heavy-handed while still being very funny.
There isn't any reason not to give this fiction a go. It's a short session with an editor from being ready for professional publication.
Excellent space adventure

Technically speaking there's nothing for me to criticise. I didn't notice any grammar errors, words flow nicely, dialogue is great and the work generally reads very well. With the main plot still very much in the beginning stages, the major strength here is the characters - all of them are brimming with life and personality, unique manners of speaking and even side characters are memorable. The author manages tonal shifts from funny wisecracking to serious life and death moments masterfully. The pacing is very good, never found myself bored or tempted to skim.
All in all, an excellent work I'd recommend to people of all tastes. Quality is far above the usual standards of royalroad in every way.
An amazing space epic

Just as a disclaimer, I'm not really good at reviewing things or writing in general and this is my second ever attempt at it but I like this so much that I really wanted to give it a try so that someone else might find this awesome piece of fiction and give it a read.
I went into this story after looking around through the site for something new to read.
And after giving it a try I can honestly say that this has become one of my favourite works on this site. (So my TL;DR is give it a shot)
So if you're sitting on the fence or unsure about if you want to read it or not. I whole heartedly recommend giving it a try. It's almost crazy that this hasn't received more readers with the level of quality that the story delvivers.
The world building is amazing and the way the author hints pieces of information without just telling you about the world in a drab way is great. You don't have to listen to anything like a person disproving a well known fact, you'll instead get people talking about something well known and obvious and then gain info on that thing in an organic way.
The characters have their own distinct personality and methods of thinking, and I never get the feeling that a person is just a cookie cutter npc with no personality.
The "magic system", for lack of a better word, is also very well implemented and I love it and the possibilities it alludes to.
And finally the story itself is amazing and the way it's told puts a grin on my face.
So I guess what I'm trying to say is if you spent time reading this review, I hope some of my excitement about this story transfers to you and that you also enjoy it if you end up reading it.
