There are some days when life seems set on mocking you. And then, there are those days. Days when even a simple ride back home, from work, almost kills you and leaves you stranded in the middle of an alien landscape.

In a world under the laws of a System that doesn't seem to work that well. A world unlike Earth, where monsters hide behind every corner, where gods and living myths seem to roam everywhere. A world not so different from Earth, where any smile can hide a monster.

Follow Marcus as he learns to, hopefully, thrive in his new reality. However, he might first need to learn how to set some order in chaos, or the other way around.

If nothing else, at least he won't have to deal with pineapple pizza anymore.

Schedule: I will be aiming for a daily chapter Monday-Friday.

It's been so long since I found a good book on this site. The style is unique, not in the way of new creation but similar to hearing someone speak your language with a smooth accent that makes you feel warm inside.

 Good good good!

Pretty interesting so far.

I feel like the author does a nice job at balancing humor and more serious plot development. Unlike many isekais, this one seems to have a certain guiding plotline. That is, still without becoming very predictable because of it.

Grammar wise it's pretty good, mostly a tipo here and there.

I like the mc not being a goody twoshoes nor an evil psycho. Just a normal pragmatist. Although he does give a somewhat chaotic feeling

Also, from time to time the author seems to become inspired or something, because there are a few passages that are just epic awesome. I guess some might find it a big cringe, but not me.

This is a good story, and the eventual romantic aspect is well done. It's easy to mess that up. I like the characters and there's a good amount of world building going on. There is the occasional grammar error but the author is quick to correct them and they do not detract from the reading experience.

It looks like the author is a bit of a Latin expert, too, which adds a bit of scholarly/scientific flavour at times.

I look forward to reading the updates, and hope to see some of the mysteries unveilled (like who was responsible for 'yoinking' the subway train there in the first place).

Foreign skies indeed

Reviewed at: 44-Venomous

Summary:

In short, our mc gets isekaied against his will, rebels against gods, gets picked up by elves, etcetera, etcetera. (Read it, I don't want to spoil it, but it's good)

Overall:

First off, even though there isn't a romance genre, there is a fair bit of it, even if I wouldn't necessarily call it a major theme. This gives a very similar feel as the kind of adventure books that I would read as a kid, not in the kiddy book way, but in the professional quality and story way. I found myself binging it and finished it over the course of a night and day... in other words, this story has stolen some of my precious sleep time. How could it!

Style:

third-person past tense, and I believe Omniscient. It describes well, and the story gets across. Since there are no major issues with it, it's a five in my book.

Story score:
Really good here too, if anything, I would say that it gives a feeling of many overarching forces playing chess, and perhaps a rebellion? It has good worldbuilding and pulls heavily from Norse mythology. I don't believe I could say much more without spoiling it.

Grammar Score:

A couple of errors here and there, nothing major though, and if you comment on it, the other seems to fix it. This, too, is a five in my book.

Character Score:

The characters seem fleshed out instead of the caricatures that you sometimes find in books on this site, and I find myself enjoying the interactions between them. The thing that stops it from a five is mostly a consequence of the story; there are only two developed characters that we see for most of the book. There are some others that we come across as the story progresses, but we often leave them behind before they get too fleshed out. This is, of course, a consequence of the adventure genre, and I don't find myself minding it too much.

In Short:

Read it, it's good, and I don't think you will regret it, but then again, you could regret the sleep you might lose. :)

Oh, and also, though it might seem different at first, this is not a cultivation novel(at least so far), so don't get your hopes up or down.

Writting is fine...a bit clunky, and the characters don't have super defined "voices". I'm at chapter 20 and the story is fine, I hope it intensifies soon.

P.S. Chapter 20 title is Albedo...I have very high hopes (Overlord)

Update: hahaha, ask and ye shall receive.

The romantic/relationship portion of the story is pretty clunky and I find myself scrolling past pretty much all of their interactions. It just feels flat and fake without any depth (the romantic interest exists solely to be a partner to the MC and it makes them boring).

That being said I enjoy the world building and plot as a whole and will definitely keep reading. Im hoping to revisit this review in a bit if the relational bit becomes more palatable and less two dimensional.
