Warning This fiction contains:
  • Gore
  • Profanity
  • Sexual Content
  • Traumatising content

I put all the warning tags to give myself creative freedom, but I'm not going to write a story filled with gore or swearing.

This is my first time writing, other than for school projects. I put the gender-bender tag because I wanted to try writing from a female's perspective, and needed an excuse for why my MC reads a little tomboyish. The gender-bender fades into the background over the first few chapters, please don't let the tag keep you away from trying out my story.

Second chances are rarely earned, and even rarer given. Follow a new life in a new world, where anything is possible. Our MC wakes up, stuck as a baby, needing to decide how she will live her new life. Let's see what future she can forge for herself, when hard work is rewarded with status points and skill levels.

Great read, but the Author...

Reviewed at: Ch: 77

Y'know how there are some great reads out there? Stories you really enjoy, that have some really good ideas that carried through to a pretty good degree? But then the author is a complete tosser with questionable beliefs and a bad attitude a mile long? This is one of those stories.

Wonderful story, enjoyed every chapter. The author's fairly entitled though, but that doesn't make the story any less fun to read. Just think Ender's Game (althought not anywhere near as good and LitRPG fantasy themed) and how the author for that is great at being an author and terrible at being a decent human being. That's generally how it is with this story.

Great author, not so great of a person. Dropped the story because it wasn't making them money. And fair enough, but why were you here to make money in the first place?

A solid story.

I love reading. I'm a 39 year old, and my go-to reading material is always fantasy nonsense.  This latest trend started off by picking up some of the English Translated light novels of Anime.  Things like Sword Art Online & Danmachi.  They are very fulfilling.  This series makes all the check marks that make me a content reader, but at the same time, I realize just how much more encompasing the series could be.  That's the only reason it's not a 5-star series.  Honestly, it isn't a literary masterpiece.  That said, it is still VERY enjoyable.

The series itself reminds me a lot of a Korean series called "Overgeared".  It's an extremely long series (1440 chapters) with no end in sight.  That's a series I would give 5-stars to, just because of how all-encompasing it is.  Strangely, that is also a series about Black Smithing.  Perculiar that I have two different series that I currently read about smashing metal into weapons, but...  oh well.  I find enjoyment in the stories.

I realy suggest picking this series up.  It's very easy to fall in to, as far as a comfort level.  The characters, for the most part, are well defined.  Some have quirks that get annoying, but that's some of what drives the story.  All I can say is that I hope kosnik4 keeps up the good work.  I enjoy the entertainment, so thank you.

Additionally, seeing how you were able to capitalize on being a writer on the internet is very inspiring.  It certainly has me debating on if all of my constant reading might have given me the ability to tell a good story.

I swear I will write a good review later

This novels is really good ! One thing that specially got me is the world the author created, for once you can surely say that his world is not Earth, like more than one moon, the longer year,  these are details that enrich the story a lot !

I don't know much more to say now but later I will edit this to have an actual review.

Here are already quite a few really good reviews, so I'll just say it's the best crafting story I've found and read so far!!

And while I'd love to find something as good or better, my hopes are not high, since the top is the top for a reason.

Fantastic Read

While I was a little offput by the whole genderbent situation because authors tend to either play it up or completely ignore it and I like the way it was done here, it doesn't particularly add anything to the story mind it's just there because the author is a male writing a female MC, all in all I really enjoy the story, love crafting centric stories and litrpgs without huge paragraphs of status pages.

I'm terrible with reviews tbh so I'll just sum it up by saying this is now easily in my top 5 of story's I have read on this site and I have read hundreds on here

Good but annoying.

Reviewed at: Ch: 38

Yea the story is somewhat entertaining, sadly a lot of the technical stuff make no sense. Nothing major but small stuf like her using a long ass incarnation just to summon and blow magnesium powder on an enemy monster through magic and then using another incarnation to ignite a torch someone else is holding and then telling that someone to throw that torch onto the enemy... There are a lot of small flaws in here besides even just the time all of that took.

What are the chances of that torch even hitting or the magnesium even igniting evenly or at all? 1 chapter later that torch becomes a super hot magical torch btw. But even with that fix, it still makes no sense.

Another example would be her making an arrow and bow, the arrow is made from metal... <.< and supposedly has a special arrow head which allows the arrow to twist and spin through the air... which I mean if you have no common sense or never played with a bow as a child may sound cool to you.

There are also other much small things about how for example she talks about making a katana and its "special" characteristics... some people may not know this but the process of making a katana or a katana by itself are nothing new or special... it just isn't. Hard blade soft core... the use of clay... give me a break. The problem here is the way this is written, not that it is mentioned at all.

The MC also has the habit of sometimes talking too much and often displays a submissive behavior during what I guess are supposed to be comedic interactions with people older than her. The gender bender stuff is also not really relevant to the point that it would have made more sense to just have the MC be female from the start.

The story is still somewhat good, just not what it could have been. All those small annoying flaws add up to the point that they can't be overlooked, at least not by me. Still the story is easily a solid 3/5 even with all of that going on. This is a story for people that are new to reading.

I like this a lot!

Reviewed at: Ch: 74

Grammar: I see a few typos here and there, but they get fixed pretty quickly. Nothing disruptive or worth really complaining about.

Characters: the characters are mostly all complex and pleasant to read. Only complaint is Aaliyah's mom, who seems to be obsessed with disciplining her aggressively for minor issues when Aaliyah does risky things, which seems to happen mostly for (failed) comedic effect. There was a pretty long thread in one of the recent chapters and the author more or less addressed it and gave the impression that it would stop happening. I expect that in a final draft, the mom would be seeing some major revisions about that and it wouldn't be a problem anymore.

Story: the story is engaging and interesting. The smithing/crafting part of it is interesting and even somewhat educational. I like reading about what Aaliyah makes and how she makes it. The action parts of the story are quite engaging and also interesting, though I do think that Aaliyah should probably be doing a bit less of that since she is, at the heart of things, a craftswoman. Reading about her relationships with peers and family, negotiating with people, and her soul-related skills is all also quite fun.

Style: The style is nice, I think. Nothing to complain about. I honestly have no idea how to rate this, but the writing was pretty consistent in the language and sentence structure.

I've been enjoying it, I am looking forward to every new update.

I guess the review has to be at least 50 words long or something. Have I not reached that yet? I feel like I've been writing for a while now and I kind of wish to stop now.

This is a very fun and funny story.  It is the up incoming magic story I have been looking for with a smithing twist.  It doesn't gloss over the small details and wave a magic wand but instead they take the time to give you fun historical detailed tidbits! Keep up the good work

Magic-smithing, A Interesting World of Skills

Reviewed at: Ch: 79

Very solid, I like the relatively slower pace, and seeing a village in a setting with skills and levels. Some interesting concepts and smithing is actually an important part of the story. Also does a good job showing with the main character that they affect the world are in, from the perspective of other characters and world building
