Five chapters in, a fun read so far

Reviewed at: 5. Collateral Damage

I realize this is an early review, but I feel that this story has held my attention from page one. The main character is intriguing, and I keep turning the pages in anticipation of her confronting the beasts with the yellow eyes (I'm trying to keep spoilers minimal here).

The writing is good, and there's some humor baked in that made me grin as I went. There's a good amount of tension building up, and some nice action (a bit gruesome, but not over the top) in Ch.5. Chapters are a bit on the short side, but I like that personally since I can read them when I'm on break. A few typos here in there, as can be expected since the author is writing this basically live without advance chapters. Things are getting cleaned up as they are noticed, and overall it's very minor and not too distracting.

Overall this is a good start, and has convinced me to hit that "follow" button.

This story grabs you at the very start as we meet our heroine crashing headlong into the Arctic tundra. And this is just the start as Cassandra desperately continues her quest to save her mother. However, our heroine isn't the only one searching and we're given tantalizing clues as to the sinister motives of her competitors. Filled with humor, action, and an underlying mystery this story takes the reader on a wild ride.

Even at this early point in the story we get a strong sense of Cassndra's determination to save her mother and her willingness to do whatever it takes to achieve that goal. The supporting characters are each memorable in their own way, but two in particular will leave a lasting impression.

There are some minor grammatical flaws and a few instances of funny word choices, but this in no way impacts the enjoyment of the story.

Now if you want a fun story with a strong female MC, then "Goddess of the Anthropocene" is the story for you.
