Dimension Thief without the stealth

Reviewed at: Chapter 18 - Slave Market
TLDC

If you don't go into it expecting a stealthy thief and instead expect more of a combat thief(like rogue/thug/highwayman) and you like Korean web novels, than you'll likely like this story.

Chapter 18 rant

It seems well written for it's style. My only real complaint is his class is basically all about the stats and no class abilities besides the one he starts with. He gains the ability to get more class abilities, but only by killing(which is weird for a thief class that gets 0 str and no killing abilities). You could count his glove as an ability(it does get more uses later) but it's really just an item.

The only real theiving he really does is more thug like, no finense, besides one quest where his one class ability does kinda help.(I guess you can count being able to summon the cat as an ability, but she can come and go as she pleases anyway.) He also buys platemail at some point *shrug* I'm not sure if that well be short lived or played out to the extreme(I'm so theif I do it in platemail). Maybe he'll go thug route instead of thief, though I guess many KR WN heros are mostly chararismatic thugs.

I guess my issue is I was exspecting a awesome stealth thief story and got an good(for KR WN) rogue story instead.

Not Bad if You're Looking For Something Simple

Reviewed at: Chapter 3 - Hard Landing

Short Review:

I've read as far as Chapter 3, and the story's quite funny. There's no complicated words, so it makes the reading quite smooth, if not too smooth. The story has a bit of cliche-ness to it, but it's quite negligible. Don't really mind cliches occasionally. If you're looking for a nice simple story to wait out other novel releases, this might be one for you.

Constructive Criticism:

I feel like the author could improve more. I'll leave the rating at 4 for the support.

So maybe author could describe the environment more to give more depth. I'd also love to know more about the main character, so that should be noted too.

Also, maybe you should give the online world a genre. Like, I would personally stick with a victorian kind of feel for fantasy litrpg. When I saw a kunai at chapter 3 all of a sudden, I wasn't quite sure what kind of world it was.

This story is laid-back and well-rounded. Does it have some of the trappings that plague similar stories? Yes.

Does that matter? As it turns out, not really.

It's just plain, uncomplicated fun.

I was initially confused by the comedic tone of the story because there wasn't a [Comedy] tag and I wanted to go into the story without too much information so I forewent reading the Synopsis: my bad.

One minor criticism I do have, however, is that at a couple of points in the story the blue boxes become a little overbearing. I believe one particular Chapter had 4 separate inclusions of the same, half-screen stat page where only one or maybe two things actually changed on it between last time.

Overall this story is a chilled out, relaxing read that flows quite well from one game element to the next with surprising adroitness.

The grammar is pretty much okay, the story moves along well. The MC is okay. The story premise is cliche but the author made it pretty okay. The laidback writing makes it a good killing time fic. The only thing that I don't like is the little fanservice/smut but it kinda is a genre thing in kr web novels so not much to do with that.

The one serious criticism I can give is probably the writing style in the killing scenes. I can't actually elaborate on this one. I think it is just my fault, but the style takes away some of the emotional impact that should result from the killing.

After writing this, I'm sure it is my fault.

To conclude I would give 4.5 stars. It's a pretty good fic for killing time.

+) Another thing you should know is that I actually read all of the chapters, it's just that I didn't read it while logged in

A Light Read That Puts A Smile Up My Face

Reviewed at: Chapter 1 - Character Select

Honestly, I very much enjoyed it. The grammar was good, I didn't notice any problem as I read through. The style, while a bit more on the telling side, isn't so bad as to make me wanna punch a wall. But where this novel shine the most is in its light-hearted comedy. Every chapter leaves you smiling and wanting for more.

Overall, I would recommend it for any litrpg fan out there who doesn't want to read about the same end of the world epic that got repeated a thousand billion times.

It's intriguing and well written early on. But it's turning pretty lemony and is hinting hard on smut being a central plot point. If that's your kind of story you'll likely enjoy this and I fully recommend giving it a try. Not so much for me.

I am a sucker for situational irony. This one got me. Ever taken WAY too long in character creation, haha, yessir! It seems that some games that is the best part. Read the first few chapters and cracked up. Funny, snarky and going to be a lot of fun.

MC is smart and proactive with seizing opportunities, which is nice to read. A lot of time MCs are just boring, but MC here is a little bit crazy and makes it fun to read. Although backstory of having parent's debt to pay off is a little cliche.

I like how the world is reactive with disaster events like a goblin invasions.

Overall 10/10 definitely recommend to read, new chapter please!!

Possibly the worst-designed MMO in fiction

Reviewed at: Chapter 4 - Hard Landing

Four chapters in and I'm already dropping this crap. I'm used to VRMMOs in web fiction being simplistic and tacky so that the MC can shine by simply being competent, but this one is utter trash and the MC is even dumber than the game is.

Classes (outside the "base" classes that no one would ever actually pick) are random; screw what the player actually wants to play as. There is no PvP protection for newly-spawned players. There is no separation between account name and player name, despite the game being a single global server with 1.6 billion players.

MC gets arbitrarily given an extremely min-maxed class focused entirely on dodging and "dimension" magic, with literally zero defensive growth. Already bad but a smart MC could use it to great effect. What does this MC do? Put all his points in physical defense.

No.

I'm done.

It reads like an LMS knockoff with a cringier MC. System is broken, pets don't obey commands, character doesn't build his own class, comedy is very slapstick. basically if you want a story carried entirely by Deus Ex with not too much thought this is a decent read. You'd have the same luck trying NovelUpdates though.  Grammatically, not bad.
