A genuine gamelit world

Reviewed at: 16. Experiments

I am not great at reviews and people with much better writing skills have already explained what makes it so wonderful, so I'll stick to my favorite part of the story. The people and culures in this story feel like they have actually lived with the System. Its not just the adventures, almost every kind of person we have met and their associated culture feels like it has been affected by the System in a meaninful way.

Good start becomes silly trainwreck

Reviewed at: 16. Experiments

Rating for first 13 chapters 4.5.

If the MC died at the end of chapter 13 this would have been a really good short story for RR.  After that the character does a 180 with his whole core personality and the story becomes fanboy fiction servant of the worse character in an already bad Disney franchise.   At least have the decency to post this as fan fiction (without that statement this is stealing Disney's adaptation of Davy Jones)

To the author:  feel free to add a warning of the story change and/or better tags and i'll feel free to edit my review.  complaining about your 0.5 reviews when you don't have any is silly.  people calling me a troll when this is the only bad review  i've posted on RR and after posting it was a good story up to that point is kinda silly.

I'm only a few chapters into the story but find it well written and a compelling read.  Well done.

Out of all the stories I've read this has to be one of my favorites

Truly a great story that displays the proper way to create a story with levels and skills they aren't the forefront of the story they are only used to inhance already existing elements overall beautifully done

This was one of the best and most enjoyable stories I have ever read. The MC class is one of the unique on this site as well the well thought out system mechanics and magics. It has a good pacing, and 3D characterisation, despite the new abilities the MC has to work hard to master them and doest not steamroll everyone and everything. I can't wait for the hiatus to be over.

Lucky to have given this a shot

As someone who usually skims a ton of stories in search of genuinely well-written content, this is like striking gold. By the end of the first chapter you're introduced and dropped into a pretty impressive take on litrpg, with a strong emphasis on realism if leveling and skill systems were actually integrated into society. By the end of the fifth chapter you're thinking "wow, I'm really lucky that I ran across this story".

Just give it a shot and you don't be disappointed. This is one of the first stories on this site (along with Menocht Loop and Forge of Destiny) that actually capture the feeling the author intends to capture, I feel. It's a great ride.

captaink-19 is a Dang good writer. Domenic the main character is a Good Man trying to make his way in the wide world as a sailor, gets recruited for a specail mission, taken by pirates and manages to beat and get away form them , only to run into the arms of Davy Jones. The support characters are good, the style is as well, some misspellings here and there. A very, very entertaining read, Indeed.

Not enough has happened yet to tell whether this work is going to be good. So far it looks solid.

The story starts off looking at what life with a LitRPG system is like for normal folk. Its very differnet and quite interesting. This shifts though when the characther becomes 'Special'.

I would recommend giving it a read just for its fresh start. Also a story about becoming and awesome captain is cool.

I personally hope this story does not just go down the route of exclusicely focusing on fighting and characther growth. Some cool side characthers are getting introduced and politics might come into play with could make the whole things much more engaging.
