Reasonably Promising, but has a Shakey Start

Reviewed at: Chapter 6: Quickstep

The novel so far is pretty standard portallit. Not terribly written but the first couple chapters are a struggle to get through. being a bit terse, ineffectually edgy, and pointlessly crude. Opens up to more familiar ground and what I assume is more comfortable terrority for the author when the first other character is introduced.

In all I disliked the first couple chapters, but the most recent couple were of sufficent quality that I don't need to write the novel off. I'm not completely sold, but I'm willing to give it at least a few more chapters to find its footing and for fans of the genre there might be something for you here eventually.
