Enjoyed until chapter 8.

I feel like this story almost hoodwinked me. It portrays for the first seven chapters one thing then at chapter 8 for no rhyme or reason the whole dynamic of the book changes. All I can say is if you were looking for the loner/edgy MC that the start of this story portrays, it seems to disappear at chapter 8.

The good kind of LitRPG

Reviewed at: 11 - First Wave

Apocalypse systems are always fun to read about because... Well, because I love apocalyptic scenarios. But it's hard to find ones with the quality present in Apocalypse Arcana. The writing is on point (there's only a typo or two) and flows well. The descriptions are vivid, evocative and bring the highly creative areas to life.

Art is an interesting character with a past that is slowly being revealed as it becomes pertinent, rather than having it dumped on us all of a sudden.

The story is fast-paced, full of action and gripping. The system is easy to understand and non-intrusive; it doesn't overtake the narrative in any way and simply helps it along, as it should.

A great, entertaining read and I can't wait for more!

Cheer up boyo, you're in the apocalypse now

Ever wondered how you'd react to finding yourself smack dab in the middle of a world ending scenario? How does one react to such a thing. There's really no good way, is there?

So then why not make the best of it!

This is what Apocalypse Arcana is all about.

So strap in and delve into the tale of Art as he survives better than the guy next to him.

There'll be no whining here.
