Dragons are superior to humans, their immortality and innate abilities allowed them to rule over the world.
The world of Lactuca is unchanging and cruel, the hierarchies that ruled the world had remained the same for thousands of years.
The lands ruled by dragons were built on countless slaves, primarily humans, serving their every need.
To sustain such a lifestyle, they launch countless raids are launched into human kingdoms to acquire new slaves.
Anna is one such individual, captured by the dragons soon after her birth, she had been raised to view the dragons around her as her family, and her actions serving them as natural.
Ovid had come from another world, coming to inhabit the body of a plantation slave working of the opposite gender, whose sole purpose is to produce food for the decadent lifestyle of the dragons.
Naturally, he refuses to accept such a fate, and along with Anna, decided to flee the rule of dragons, into the nearest human kingdom.
