The Last Time Loop: Max of the Rebellion

by TheClockworkOrange

Max finds himself in a time loop. Any kind of death annuls everything except his present knowledge, and returns him into the past. This is a good way to test all sorts of things. That is, it would be, if not for one little thing... This loop has real Lords and it’s unlikely that they will be happy to find out about an uninvited guest.

And that isn’t his only problem; all of his memories of the last year have simply disappeared. But the world around him changed in the meantime. Earth has been seized by the Velly clan and is now part of their Star Empire. Max has also discovered his gift of being a psychic.

However, the latter isn’t that big of a deal.

Everyone can be a level 1 “battery;” for everything else, however, it’s necessary to have some talent, money, and connections, which only complicates things further.

A whole new world, great opportunities, and big troubles... Welcome to the Last Time Loop!

A fresh time loop story, with potentional!

Nice start to this story, i really do want to read more already, its not often that you find a new well written time loop story. I  look forward to what this story potentionally could be.

Max is just a average human, or atleast was until he found himself in the city, with remembering nothing of what happened in the past year, and much has changed. For aliens have conquered earth and established their rule over it, making it a new world in their empire, their society thrives on the farming of energy from the 'battery', people with psychic potentional, from who energy can be harvested, and Max is one himself. In such a world he finds himself in, and  Max tries to live in it, which is not made easy by his amnesia, and to boot there are other problems looming, terrorists, energy harvesters and even the aliens rulers. And when he finds himself killed by the alien Governor due to a major event involving the destruction of worlds, he finds himself back to where he was, the moment it all began. Max finds out that he is in a time loop, one that presents a huge oppurtinity for him, but he has to be careful, because he is just a uninvited guest in the loop of the actual Lords, who will not let him be if they find about him.

Ill be fair, the MC is not much yet, this is due to the story not giving the MC much of a chance to actually develop as a character, there is also the fact he has amnesia, and thus does not remember anything of the last 8 months before the loop started. For now it is fine, but i hope that as more of the story is released, the MC also does get actually established as a character.

The setting is quite interesting, and distinct, there are some original ideas used, such as the Battery's with the entire economy being built around them, to the point that even kidnappings happen to harvest energy.

The loop is not something mysterious that just happens, it actually has a in-story reason for happening, and it does not look like the MC can afford to be careless, he is not alone in it after all. There is a lot of potentional here, and considering that the plot currently is only at the start of the first loop, it could go literally anywhere.

The plot so far has been good already, currently the focus is on mystery and learning about the world. However i guess it will shift as the Loops actually start get going, since we are currently in the first yet. It is highly likely for Max to become more powerful as a psychic , but that does not mean he can simply relax, since as said he is not alone in the Loop.

Flawless grammar basically, in the story so far, i dont think i have spotted a single typo. Really good editing, and i hope it does keep the same level of quality as more of the story is released.

The story is overall easy enough to read, and does a fine job at keeping the reader interested, due to how the story is set up, the infodumping does not feel out of place at all, rather just another part of the story. The pacing of the story so far feels fine to me, just the right kind.

The potentional is definitely there, the author just has to capitalize on it, it is no easy genre to write a good story in, with there being so much that can go wrong, so i hope the author can deliver and create a good timeloop story. Currently this is no Mother of Learning, or anywhere close to that level of writing, but it maybe could be, but that remains to be seen as it is currently still early in the story, with it only having entered the first loop.

This is currently a early review, and things are set to change as more of the story is released.

Once again, as said it is still early, but i can recommend readers to give this story a try, if just for the premise alone.

Time Travel and the Star Wars

For the last few years I have developed specific tastes, you know like a craving for a specific type of book. I even have been told I can be overly critical. But who cares if I prefer mature characters that make sound decisions based on their characters and experience; I'm always looking for a book with an intricately woven plot.

This story gave me all these things and more, with all its coming star wars and time travelling. I read it straight through. And I can not wait for the next chapters and look forward to a well written, well paced, and well told story as good if not better than what has already has been published.
Despite only being 16 chapters long as of writing, there's plenty to get you almost instantly hooked, so go read it.

Really much better than I expected.

Everything is really good, especially the memory loss which makes it way more interesting, the world building is original, he has good writing style and i haven't noticed any grammar errors.

The only thing that feels slightly off is that, in my opinion, he reacts a bit too calm and logical after the memory loss, managing to find snippets of his past and interacting with people without making them even a bit suspicious(for now).

That said I really enjoyed everything else.

P. S. I really can't wait to find out how he entered the time loop and a bunch of other things.
