“Taketh one for thou team, honorable Dio. Please allow thy fellow wielders of rods to bathe in the windfall thou has been bequeathed by the heavenly order of thots.”

-Some Unsung Hero, Friend of Dio, Friend of Mankind, A Thirsty Bro

Perhaps my life would have turned out differently if it was not for the moron who spouted those nonsensical words. If I could go back in time and shoot that friend, I probably would if I knew what pursuing her would lead to.

Thanks to the choices I once made, my world became one built by the characters around me, the dreams and nightmares in my head, the illusions that misconstrue and veil the truth, and my imagination that runs rampant out of my control.

What is real may not be real at all, while what is false may neither be false or true. To me, reality is simply a work of fiction pieced together by what is differentiated between truths, falsehoods and the unknown.

There were some days I came across love born in the moment. Some days I came across the unknown in unexpected places. Some days I came across truths as I touched upon death. But there was one day my world shattered to pieces upon rebirth.

Laced in double meanings, nothing is ever as it seems. Anything can potentially be a form of deceit, to doubt is to live and to live is to slowly die.

What does any of this mean? Maybe there is no meaning at all and people just wish to find some sort of deeper meaning when there was never any meaning to begin with. Or maybe you were just deceived into thinking there was no meaning, but buried in unexpected places, there were infinite hidden meanings or ways to interpret them just waiting to be discovered.

I may only have read till half by now, but i can say that i freaking love how well the author represents insanity, inteligent reactions to the paranormal and his sense of humor.

Diogenes, the Mc, is one unlucky fella. Hes smart, has good taste, a good job and hobbies, but his luck with woman seriously makes you think none of the above could make him pass as "lucky".

Friking chapter one and he has the best reactions, bad situations, perfect grammar that made me just fluidily read through with hooks on every chapter that made me keep reading and reading. The terror he is experiencing is obvius as you read, while the feeling kind of creeps up to you when hes solutions, good ones by the way, just keep going down the drain. His recollections of past events are quite impressive in the way that they quite well show how strong his anger at himself, his attacker and the disgust he feels.

Id really like for some better reviewer to take a look at this, because my commenting abilities just arent sharp enough, but id certainly recomend this to anyone.

I feel bad for Dio. He is so getting killed by his boss.

Bit slow, certainly horror.

Reviewed at: Chapter 9.

After 9 chapters plus prologue the story finally gets to the point and introduces the ghost. However this does not mean the story up until this point has been bad. It was the MC dealing with his ex-girlfriend and it was quite entertaining and got my heart racing due to how terror inducing the atmosphere was.

I dont think the usual numbered chapter works and the author should split the chapters into mini-arcs such as 'The ex-girlfriend part 1-End" as in order to fully enjoy the story, you need your mind to be drawn into the atmosphere.

Contrived scenario/drama; MC is a passive idiot weakling

Reviewed at: Chapter 5.

The scenario is beyond contrived. So much so it was hard to sit through. Couldn't make it past chapter 5. The dude is being terrorized by his ex who is literally an escaped mental patient. She is armed with a knife but leaves him to his own devices for over 20 minutes as she goes to cook a meal.

Dude complains he doesn't have any weapons because she took them away while he was sleeping.... Except he has a chair, a table and a laptop. All three can be used to make an improved weapons (chair and table legs) or just be simply used as one. Instead he spends time trying and failing to jury rig a way to get internet access to call for help since she took his phone batter and disabled the internet for his laptop... Never mind that the police likely wouldn't make it in time even if he had a phone. When seconds count, the police are just minutes away.

She comes back with her hands full with a platter containing his last meal and this fucker's only reaction is to cower like a bitch instead of caving her skull in. He'll, he's a dude, she s a chick. He could overpower her hand to hand even without a weapon when she's occupied serving "food". The MC ignores multiple obvious opportunities to ameliorate the situation for the sake of some fake, manufactured horror and drama.

If you enjoy reading about a guy panicking and cowering in a corner about shit he could solve in seconds with half a thought, go ahead and read this story. Otherwise, stay well clear.
