He Who Fights With Monsters
Access the discord here.
Jason wakes up in a mysterious world of magic and monsters. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters, and that’s just the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.
Follow Jason as he makes a place for himself in a world that is strange, yet sometimes strangely familiar. He’ll meet crime lords and aristocrats, gods and monsters on his path from would-be victim to heroic adventurer. At least, he tries to be heroic. It’s hard to be good when all your powers are evil.
Release schedule is 5 chapters per week, Monday-Friday USA time.
Please note: I am Australian and this story is written in Australian English, so there will be less of the letter Z and more of the letter U.

\quirky, funny, with a great mix of action and humor. In the end I got turned off by the reminders of various Randian heroes I had seen over the years. it really reminds me of Richard Rahl sometimes and sorry, I hated those books.
A good solid story, where a person summoned from another world starts on the back foot, as the lowest of the low, and is slowly working his way forward. Learning and adapting to the world, to monsters and to powerful people, showing that he can change from a normal human to an essence user, and how he can adapt and use some of his memories to assist in different ways.
My favorite ongoing novel at the moment. I did not think I was going to like it after reading the first couple chapters, but it turned out to be good. Dialogue is very well done. There are occasional grammar errors, but they seem to be fixed rather quickly.
As an avid reader of decades, this is some of the best dialogue I've encountered.
Well done, I eagerly await the next installment.
rather than be shaped by the world around him I feel like the world is beginning to change because of his existence.
even the gods of the other world are talking notice, what unique about him isn’t his power or even being an ”outerworlder”, but his ideas and how he interacts with the world around him, he is the type of character that affects the mentality of the people around him and forces people to question everything even religion.
This is just a short review after reading all the chapters released so far by the time I posted this review.
i add to it later on when I feel like it lol
It is one of if not the best story on this site I have read. It just checks all the right boxs for me. Keep up the great work and story.
What else is there to say that hasn't already been said? Lol. I guess I'll take a shot at it.
soo, I LOVE the premise and how the author explores the world. I think the writing is good enough from a technical standpoint. The character is what makes the story though. It could be about him eating porridge an it would still be a good read lol
Enjoying this quite a bit, will write a. Full review when more is out
I usually just lurk here and read whatever catches my fancy, but after reading this delightfully funny take on a saturated field of litrpg, I actually felt the need to make an account and leave a review. So I’ll get right to it.
This doesn’t need a long, detailed review of pros and cons. All I need to say about it is that the juxtaposition between the wonderfully friendly and downright pleasant attitude of our hero and his rather macabre powers is what drove me to actually write this. It’s such an excellent change of pace, from so many other, fantastic, but similar stories of some guy/gal swept off to some foreign world where they struggle to survive while getting meaner, crueler, and more vicious. All logical reactions, and excellent tales in their own right, but what sets this one apart is the snappy humor and the easy going personality of the MC make him readily likeable. So if you’re tired of broody, anti-social MCs, this is an ideal change of pace.
(Review written for up to chapter 30)
Really like this character. The story is progressing well also. Hopefully the author continues this exciting work.
