What would you do if you woke up alone in a forest in nothing but your pajamas?

This is a story about a man trying to answer that question as he navigates a world of monsters, magic, adventure, and numbers going up. It isn't all fun and games, though. Survival is tough when you are alone, and the dangers of the wilderness are not to be underestimated.

This is a world governed by a system of stats, skills, and dialog boxes. It is vital to know how the system works if you want any chance of having a life of meaning in this world. Too bad someone forgot to include the instruction manual.

This one surprised me

I'm not really into HEAVY LitRPG novels that use and abuse numbers and gamey elements like this one, since most authors fail at balancing it out and making their characters, well... Believable and Relatable. Thankfully this novel is an exception, the game-like elements and numbers were incredibly well handled, characters felt believable and alive, and the MC is surprisingly enjoyable in his journey of making a quirky build.

There weren't any glaring grammar issues, (I didn't notice any at all actually). Characters felt alive, and the language barrier was a stroke of genius in my opinion, because it made the whole "Explaining the world and all the systems in place" which usually come in forms of infodumps in other stories that more enticing and not a slog to go through (like most other similar novels).

This is a LitRPG Novel in the purest sense of the genre. It doesn't do anything too original or different then what you'd expect from the genre, Levels, skills points, Level caps, Attributes, Adventurers Guild, it's all here, but it's well written enough that its still a good read if you like the premise.

Anyway; This. Is. Good. (If you like LitRPG). Give it a shot, you wont regret it.

Review as of chapter 25. Minor spoilers ahead.

I think this is a pretty unique story, an isekai fiction but without any of those fancy gifts. Everything that the main character has obtained feels organic which is fantastic, from learning the language or any of his skills or levels. It might be that he breaks some sort of mechanic in the world after awhile or maybe he's already done so, but so far the story has a great track record of  giving reasonable explanations. It's got some depressing stuff in it (mostly just having to do with being alone), which is incredibly different in this genre. I'm looking forward to where the fiction goes in the future.

I've read a lot of litrpg fics on this site and I've got to say this is one of the best starts I've ever seen. It's pretty early to be judging it but based on the writing quality and interesting characters so far I think it definately deserves 5 stars.

Realistic, (near) infinite power with clearly defined costs. LitRPG at its finest. All self respecting murderhobos know the path to (near) infinite power starts in a sewer.

If there was a pure LITRPG this would be it. Though undeniably cookie cutter it is a well executed simple LITRPG that focuses primarily on stats and doesn't fall into many of the pitfalls other litrpgs fall into. There are no harem hijinks, bad romance subplots or corny comedy lines, just straight good litrpg action. By well executing a simple plot it is much better than other stories that try too hard to be different. Keep it up!

I'm up to chapter 26 and it has a solid start..a few pieces could you a rewrite in terms of character motivation given all that's occurred - especially around the protagonists' ejection from the city in terms of the various characters motivations - but a solid direction. The only complaint would be around the stats which often eat up large chunks of a chapter without necessarily helping the [lot along - great effort overall

Wish I found this sooner

Current chapter 26.

Love this novel.  Its so realistic and it doesnt play into the usual tropes that other novels go towards.  I love the style and the blue boxes.  They give the novel more realism.  I love the novel and wish I found it sooner.  Keep going!  20 Chapters a day please!  Need more!

Worth to read and re-read

While a simple premise in comparison to the others around RR, it is well done in most ways, and while i myself am no profecional critic, the characthers fell real and deep, the story has a good pace, nothing is really directly handled to the main character, except the things that are, but those are well introduced as well, so not really something to complain about. Oh, almost forgot to say, but the grammar is really one of the best i've seen around and the author is quick with corrections.

Don't get how this is as popular as it is

I really don't get how this story is as popular as it is, i find it incredibly boring, I have read up to chapter 29 ( the latest release as this is being written) and very little of what has happened is interesting, the main character has just recently learned the language, so up until now we have basically only had his internal voice describing everything. and since the MC is summoned from another world into this one, he has pretty much no idea whats going on, the novely the main character not knowing the language wears off really quick when so many interactions with other people boil down to "I pointed at a thing, and they told me the word for it, this continued for hours"

looking past that, there is no hook to the story, there isn't a small description you can give that would make someone want to read it other than the fact that the MC doesn't speak the language (which, again, wears thin quickly). even at the latest released chapter (29) the plot is maybe just starting, with a few of the characters making a plan to go into a mine to fight stuff.

overall I don't get how this is as popular as it is, let alone 3rd on best rated.

So far decent though the MC actsquite questionable

A typical portal/isekai premise with the MC winding up in an unknown world for no real reason gaining access to a system including magic.

What sets this one apart is mostly that the protagonist starts with no knowledge of the language which makes the start very interesting.

The story hasn't progressed very far and by chapter 30 there isn't actually any story involved at all. It is pretty much just MC trying to figure stuff out with no real goal or main plot in sight. I personally don't dislike that.

Spoiler: Spoiler

So all in all a good story with good writing but a kinda underwhelming and dumb MC.

A lot of math though so hopefully all the math in his build checks out at least.
