A teenager struggling after the death of his best friend finds himself in a fantasy world - one which seems to be an amalgamation of every Dungeons and Dragons campaign they ever played together. Now he's stuck trying to find the answers to why he's there and what this world is trying to say. The most terrifying answer might be that this world is an expression of the person he was back on Earth.

let's start with the cool stuff :
top notch world building
species(alot of species) who are actually different than humans, you don't get the short "man" who is a dwarf and the tall ripped man with pointy ears, these races are actually different and each have their own cultures.
play with genders kinda of connected with the above.
unlikeably mc: he is cowardly, undecided, totally obsessed with a woman who is literally not interested in him (atleast sexually), but never act on it.(some might call him "realistic", but if that's what realism is all about i'd rather stick with manly mc from trashy pf.)
constant drama : no respite, for fuck sake . fenn death , grakk suicide (almost),bethel thing , the world is already pretty dark no need though to overdo it
hard on christianity: the bible is kinda of scorned. if you are a sensible christian , you might want to avoid this book.
sooo, i kinda of stopped reading after bethel thingy( i feel 0 pity for juniper) , which kinda of seemed just a s.hitty way to add more drama, i would suggest to not overdo it with the "dark" next time.
overall though it entertained me for alot, i will check out author next work, and maybe when i'm less triggered , i will continue this (atleast i will spoil myself the ending).
edit: just found the perfect word to describe mc... beta male.
he has 0 self respect, 0 independece, he literally remains a spineless f.ck .it would have been accettable at the begin, but not after 160 chapters.
From all other reviews I saw and the blurp I'd expect a fantasy setting with DnD like themes, but instead we have some dystopian post apocalyptic zombie survival abomination. That's fine for those that like such things I guess, but I can't imagine a less interesting setting, would be nice for some hint of it to be present in the description.
