The whole planet was introduced to the multiverse by an unfeeling System... or God. A universe where an endless number of races and civilizations fought for power and dominion. Zac finds himself stuck in the wilderness surrounded by deadly beasts, demons, and worse. Alone, lost and without answers, he must find the means to survive and get stronger in this new cut-throat reality.

Okay seriously, tthere isn no harem, Dude has like 2 girlfriends the entire 750 chapters put out so far. One of which he had prior to the story and was in like 3 chapters.
Zacc is a meat head, plain and simple. He tries to think things through, but almost everytime he tries to follow a well thought out plan everything goes tits up and he has to go full hulk smash on everything.
This story is pretty acurate tto a person witth basicc morality getting put in a shitty situation (System Apocolypse) and tries to find their way and survive in the new world.
Is he luky? Yep.
Is there a reason? Yep.
Do you learn abouthe reason before chapter 500? Nope
Does he have 100 women warriors as an elite fighting force that is contracted to him in a systtem enforced employment ccontract? Yep.
Can they ask him tto be released from the contract at anytime after the incursions are over? Yep.
Do some do that? A couple Yep.
Does he have sex with them? Nope. Only realy talks to one of them at all.
Did he Kill the guy that was using tthem as sex slaves before offering a contract? Yup.
Did he do it to offer them a ccontract? Nope, dude murdered Zac's father.
What did the Contracct entail? He didn't inittiate the contract at all. They did, He just needs to give them the chance to get stronger by their own merit and hard work. They just need to help him with Earth's enemies.
But there are a lot of cliffs like every day.
This is a fun read. While it does run into many of the litrpg and xianxia tropes that make parts predictable it does enough to add its own flair of originality. The MC is a bit OP but with that he puts the weight of the world on his back and the story truly shows that he has to challenge himself and improve so it never feels stale or boring.
The world building is my favorite part and this universe has a lot of depth. Even 600 chapters in you feel like your still reaching new depths of complexity. I hope the author continues and is able to truly pay off on the story promises.
All told I would recommend!
the only reason I think this deserves a complete score is due to the author's ability to keep on writing and delivering chapters that I dare say better quality each and every time. this review was written as of chapter 394 and to be honest, every chapter has been fun. there is no common cliches or cringy moments in the story. the fights are well thought and would leave you at the edge of your seat. so far I don't feel that the author glossed over or written any unexplainable aspects just for the MC. the system is well made and doesn't show favoritism or gives the MC any advantages that others couldn't possibly get in a similar situation (plot armor).
honestly, kudos to the author for such a well-written story and further gratitude for the consistent schedule and quality work that is never sacrificed.
I don't see many if at all grammatical errors and none have ever lessened the immersion for me.
The character is amazing and well fleshed and the side characters remain nothing to be desired of. Simply an enjoyable read that you can't go wrong with.
the fights are amazing. The system is well made. The Author likes to mix in some foreshadowing that is simply fun to notice it adds depth to the story and it shows that the author put in a lot of time and effort into the story as makes the re-read of every chapter even more of a delight
Maybe it is just me, but I really enjoy this series. I am not a kid anymore, so I really hate it when authors add in kid mistakes to add drama or character growth. The MC wants to help the planet, so his focus is on getting stronger and making his port stronger as well. He is not wasting time talking trash, creating drama, or judging girls cup size. He is a bit paranoid so he does not get blindsided to often.
Defiance of the Fall is essentially a light novel written in English, however; doing a direct comparison doesn't really do it justice. I will attempt to keep my review spoiler-free, so let's start. Defiance is a story about a man named Zac who has been integrated into a universe-wide system. While this concept is seen in a whole bunch of stories, the author does a significant job with distinguishing it and making it an almost psuedo-character in the story, never truly there, but still kinda an antagonist at times.
The basis of the story is a man looking for his family and what that means for him in a brand new world that is out to kill him and what he must do to survive. There is significant character development with all of the main characters and the world that they live in. The author has clearly put in time and effort into thinking about how the new world works and how the people that now live in it will work.
While that's all fine and dandy, and essential to a good story, it does drag at parts, with significant time spent on each of the arcs developing everything. While that is normally fine and appreciated, and I do love a well-developed story, with the release schedule of a chapter a day during weekdays, this can make the story feel drawn out because of cliff hangers at the end of almost every chapter and the feeling of nothing really happening during some chapters.
On to a more technical side, grammar is good, normally any error is fixed before the chapter is released and any error found later is fixed quickly by the author. The style of the story is good and fun to read, especially because the characters are developed.
On a final note, the story is a fun read with plenty of chapters released and 30 extra ahead on patreon. I highly recommend reading it if you liked what you saw in the synopsis.
Not a perfect story but still really good. The first arc was a bit long, but the pacing has improved since. If you like LitRPG/Sytstem Apocalypse you'll love this story, its one of the best. If you don't like that genre, you probably won't get too much from this.
Enjoying this story immensely. A few notes that jump out at me, the subtleties in how the author presents the antagonists is welcome without being a crutch to the various arcs. The characters have many moments if growth, training, reflection and epiphany spread through out the story which means it's easy to stay bought in when you see that monstrous luck stat which can in many cases become a crutch. Good work on so many fronts no point in being negative because the author is growing in so many ways it is admirable.
An enticing story with lots of hooks. Enjoyed the many hours with Zak and crew, grinding down the odds. His core and direction are not where I would go, but for sure I'm enjoying each development as he progresses up the ladder of eternal strife that has become his life. How will he get to his goals? I can't wait to find out.
Definitely one of the best books I've ever read. This isn't like a normal book of this genre where lots of things are always happening and finishing quickly. This is a lot slower, but there is always something happening. He is only mid E-grade after 660+ chapters when it goes up to at least A-grade.
Some of the fights appear a little repetitive, but that's only because that's the MCs fighting style. However nothing else is repetitive like EVERY other novel like this. The MC has actual growth in skills and personality.
One thing that i can understand is that most of the side characters are not well done/developed, but that's only bcuz author focuses on MC. Do not read this if you are looking for a romance genre! Otherwise very good job😁
Tldr: if you like Xianxia, you'll probably like this.
Ignore the folk that are pissed about the luck aspect. The story is based off a sentient, cosmic AI that is driven to create powerful people and tips fate for the promising.
It's integrated with the story, and the story is designed to be a long journey to the top. It starts off as litrpg, but really, it's a lot more of a westernized Xianxia epic to the tune of what's written by I Eat Tomatoes, eg Coiling Dragon and Desolate Era.
You don't judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, and this is a 5 star example of what it is.
