A young couple, Rowan Black and Gabrielle Allaire, waits eagerly to play a newly-released multiplayer video game.

Developed with revolutionary, second-gen, ultra-realistic virtual reality tech, Sortis Online offers an open-world experience with a twist: players are given unique starting conditions (fates) based off their personalities and desires.

Through a lottery system, a lucky few are offered legendary fates. Rowan is one of those lucky few, a demonborn. Together they embark on a journey of wilderness survival and town-building.

A slice-of-fantasy-life litRPG adventure with heavy settlement-building mechanics inspired by Dwarf Fortress and the like.

Looking good so far. There's something bothering me about Row and Gabs behavior, but I just can't put my finger on.

The worst thing i can say about this story is that its boring. I've read worse stories in terms of characterisation, grammer and pacing etc but not one as boring as this. It just feels aimless with a decided lack of appropriate tension.

The fight scenes, which are the bread and butter of litRPGs, are so bland that they fade into the background of the story.

Interesting so far, no obvious errors, and the setting is familiar but unique enough to hold interest.

The MC's are a bit touched in the head; they flip back and forth from manipulative of everyone and each other to 20yo dumb asses.  It can be jarring
