Callum is alone in the States applying for a job as an engineer when the world changes forever. In an event called the Emergence he is changed into a creature of legend known throughout many ancient cultures, the trickster fox. Follow Kalia as she descends into villainhood, becoming the greatest thief in Penrith city, outwitting heroes and villains alike!

This story has both Cuteness and Heartache, so if that's not your thing, I'm sorry :). Also contains the temporary death of a side character, which is apparently something I need to warn people about.

(Originally wrote this story on a different site, but I'm trying out royal road.)

Also, I should tell you that this is only one story of an expanded universe that my friends and I are writing in. There is two other stories currently being written, including one that will play an important role later on. We'll see if they upload here too.

I am currently up to date (chapter 22), and this story has jumped into my list of favorites.

Good grammer, good writing style.

Story wise, it's fantastic. A delicious blend of superheroes and myth, all causing chaos.

WARNING! Character analysis has small spoilers.

Spoiler: Spoiler

A great story with action, psychological trauma, fluffy romance (in more ways than one), and some wonderful yuri.

BE WARNED! If you cant handle girl love, or binary gender neutral characters, or hat on racists, this probably isn't for you. But give it a try, you'll love it!

Read up to the latest chapter (chapter 4), story is a good read so far. Grammar is on point and there's pretty much only one character to judge right now which is the MC. He/she is pretty good and believable. Him dealing with the new changes is interesting, mostly with how his transformation seemed to have some changes to his emotions, which IMO seems and is done pretty believable. Can't judge style for shit but the storyvis presented pretty good so far and the action scenes are easy to follow. Only gripe I got is pretty small but its how the MC says he doesn't really care about politics but then proceeds to describe a group of people as looking like 'racist white trash'. It just felt a bit out of character for the MC to me. Again, just a minor gripe, maybe i'm just over/underthinking things. Overall pretty good story so far, which I feel I shouldn't be saying given that I'm only 4 chapters in. Looking forward to what comes next.

This story is the beginning for the Kammiverse. With a sudden transformation causing difficulties for our protagonist, this story explores some of the difficulties people face for being different, where morality meets legality, and a lot about how the aftermath of a big change can be both good and bad. It is smart, beautiful, funny, and one of my favorite stories on RR.

Yet Another Biased Review

Another one, you say?

There's a reason why this story has so many biased reviews. Before I decided I wanted to hop on the Kammi Kettu writing train (sorry, my story chapters aren't up on RR just yet), I was just another reader. Val has created a wonderful little universe here full of complex characters and a bit of a mystery in the background. It's not a story that's going to be liked by everyone; no story with trans characters and an acknowledgment of racism in America will be. It is, however, a story that I've thoroughly enjoyed so far and can't wait to see what happens going forward!

A Thoroughly unbiased biased review

This story is just lovely. Valerie has such a playful way with words and the audience is taken along for a ride. Kalia as a protagonist is puckish and immediately lovable. There are highs, lows, comedy, tragedy, and a whole lot of gay. Aka everything that a good discerning audience should look for in a story.

I know some people complain about the tie in stories. But we are folx who have asked if it's okay to write in the universe. There is no requirement to read the other stories. It can flesh out some characters, but not mandatory. It's fun to have a shared creative space with friends. But you don't have to read if you don't want to.

Also. This is the trans wish fulfillment that trans folx need right now. In a world where doctors have now been okayed to refuse treating trans folx, some of the outright rudeness that Emerged people face (hint it's a metaphor) doesn't seem too out of place. But throughout it all adorableness and love shine on through.

Cute, Unique, Cute, thoughtful, and cute

Well, we did it. we hit a quarter million subscribe-- wait wrong thing. This story is so good. it has professional grade grammar, a unique style, and a expansive setting with intertwining stories of similar qualities. The characters are all very distinct, with varying pesonalities and beliefs, even if those require immense bigotry. The setting has nuance, and the main three characters have relatable and believable flaws, from dysphoria, to gender ide ntity struggles, to being "disaster lesbians". The main character faces real world challenges like discrimination, death, and due process alalonalalong side the super powered struggles she gets wrapped up in. One of the best written Anti-heroes on this site, and Her tail is on par with some of the best in the super hero genre on here like Super Minion. also, the writing of the fights is phenominal, and each emerged's power and abilities are symbolic of their role in the new emerged community of Penrith or a representative of their true self. The angel is a firm believer in the law, the fox is a trickster, the wolf is a Private Eye, the fallen angel starts a s a hero but ends up somewhere inbetween, the NB becomes an elf. The person suffering gender dysphoria gets gender bended, the trans gets their body to fit their heart, the child that wants to be noticed becomes a big were-ape. The effort put into these connections is reflected in their final quality.

iin other, more important categories, Val is just as successful. The humor is on point, the romance is not cringy, the conversations feel natural, drunk people feel drunk, and the ero is the good shit, with the potential to grow as strong as vespidian (thats not including the kinks).

  • but the strongest point of Kammi Kettu is how god damn fucking cute Kalia is. I squeeed multiple times, even on my third readthrough in 2 days.

A truly great story. I'm not fully caught up yet, but it's REALLY nice to have some queer rep in superhero ANYTHING in general.

I look forward to seeing this story go even further, and I look forward to reading the rest of the Kammiverse in time.

So far I've spent most of my day of reading this straight from chapter one to Chapter 23.
The world is utterly enthralling, and the work has no obvious grammar flaws. The characters are relatable and interesting and have depth beyond what they've been introduced to be and some do things you don't expect, just like real life. The Interesting twists and turns in this novel lead to quite the Interesting universe being built up around our main cast of characters.
The only complaint I would have as of right now would be that
