Callum is alone in the States applying for a job as an engineer when the world changes forever. In an event called the Emergence he is changed into a creature of legend known throughout many ancient cultures, the trickster fox. Follow Kalia as she descends into villainhood, becoming the greatest thief in Penrith city, outwitting heroes and villains alike!

This story has both Cuteness and Heartache, so if that's not your thing, I'm sorry :). Also contains the temporary death of a side character, which is apparently something I need to warn people about.

(Originally wrote this story on a different site, but I'm trying out royal road.)

Also, I should tell you that this is only one story of an expanded universe that my friends and I are writing in. There is two other stories currently being written, including one that will play an important role later on. We'll see if they upload here too.

I am currently up to date (chapter 22), and this story has jumped into my list of favorites.

Good grammer, good writing style.

Story wise, it's fantastic. A delicious blend of superheroes and myth, all causing chaos.

WARNING! Character analysis has small spoilers.

Spoiler: Spoiler

A great story with action, psychological trauma, fluffy romance (in more ways than one), and some wonderful yuri.

BE WARNED! If you cant handle girl love, or binary gender neutral characters, or hat on racists, this probably isn't for you. But give it a try, you'll love it!

Read up to the latest chapter (chapter 4), story is a good read so far. Grammar is on point and there's pretty much only one character to judge right now which is the MC. He/she is pretty good and believable. Him dealing with the new changes is interesting, mostly with how his transformation seemed to have some changes to his emotions, which IMO seems and is done pretty believable. Can't judge style for shit but the storyvis presented pretty good so far and the action scenes are easy to follow. Only gripe I got is pretty small but its how the MC says he doesn't really care about politics but then proceeds to describe a group of people as looking like 'racist white trash'. It just felt a bit out of character for the MC to me. Again, just a minor gripe, maybe i'm just over/underthinking things. Overall pretty good story so far, which I feel I shouldn't be saying given that I'm only 4 chapters in. Looking forward to what comes next.

This story is the beginning for the Kammiverse. With a sudden transformation causing difficulties for our protagonist, this story explores some of the difficulties people face for being different, where morality meets legality, and a lot about how the aftermath of a big change can be both good and bad. It is smart, beautiful, funny, and one of my favorite stories on RR.

A Thoroughly unbiased biased review

This story is just lovely. Valerie has such a playful way with words and the audience is taken along for a ride. Kalia as a protagonist is puckish and immediately lovable. There are highs, lows, comedy, tragedy, and a whole lot of gay. Aka everything that a good discerning audience should look for in a story.

I know some people complain about the tie in stories. But we are folx who have asked if it's okay to write in the universe. There is no requirement to read the other stories. It can flesh out some characters, but not mandatory. It's fun to have a shared creative space with friends. But you don't have to read if you don't want to.

Also. This is the trans wish fulfillment that trans folx need right now. In a world where doctors have now been okayed to refuse treating trans folx, some of the outright rudeness that Emerged people face (hint it's a metaphor) doesn't seem too out of place. But throughout it all adorableness and love shine on through.

Yet Another Biased Review

Another one, you say?

There's a reason why this story has so many biased reviews. Before I decided I wanted to hop on the Kammi Kettu writing train (sorry, my story chapters aren't up on RR just yet), I was just another reader. Val has created a wonderful little universe here full of complex characters and a bit of a mystery in the background. It's not a story that's going to be liked by everyone; no story with trans characters and an acknowledgment of racism in America will be. It is, however, a story that I've thoroughly enjoyed so far and can't wait to see what happens going forward!

I've been hooked since the first few chapters! I honestly can't get enough of Kalia! She's soooo cute! I'm always looking forward to the next chapter.

Honestly I've read a ton of fantasy and sci-fi over the years and have been enjoying this series just as much as many of my favorites!

The only downside is I can't binge read it for days on end yet!

Through it is still early to to put a review (chapter 13 - Minx), but if it is going the current way, then there is no fear for it to drop  :).

The main character state of the mind is set up the way that we readers know how it works and why in certain situations "they" apply special methods to deal with their enemies.

We also know that MC is a person that won't be turning into genocide maniac in near future as they suffer and want to deal revenge without hurting (too much) innocent people.

I don't want to spoiler a story so I'm writing in roundabout way, but I think for sure. The story is written much better than my review, it is easy to read and non confusing as my review might be.

The story is going in a completly new universe where is another story from another author. Just type Kammi Kettu in search bar and you will find it.

Thanks for reading this review. I hope that you didn't get a headache because of my writting.

So basically it's a pretty good story.

All characters actually have depth and don't feel like they came from an isekai side character sweatshop making the most generic possible characters trying to appeal to all customers.

The chapters all are pretty interesting and literally the only thing that bothered me is the overuse of Nazi as motivation or justification which to me feels kinda tiring

The way the story is set in contemporary times and talks about current problems seems pretty good to me

The main couple is cute as hell and gives me diabetes which for me is more than enough reason to give a good score, but the pacing of the romance is even more satisfying as it didn't leave the impression that it was as fast as Nascar but wasn't slow like a broke down car you saw on the side of the road, I would compare it to a comfortable family suv with cruise control AC and some sweet music playing

The writing is pretty good and the grammar too, or at least it seems, idk I hate studying grammar but you will surely understand everything when you read it without needing to scroll back 3 times and meditate to try to figure out what the author meant

Although sometimes I did feel like I'm not part of the audience meant to read this, and maybe some people might feel this, I still recommend reading as the quality of the story soon will make you forget this feeling.

This story is great.  I love it.  Please keep writing it.

Edit: After posting my review, I read a few of the others.  It's crazy, but I feel I must mention that having Nazi's as badguys isn't a political statement.  They've committed mass murder in the past.  They want to commit mass murder in the future.  They're badguys.  Am I losing my fucking mind?  I never thought I'd have to explain that, it's not about you, it's just that  genocide is bad.
