In the war-torn land of Cyraveil, four heroes strove to overthrow an empire. By cold steel and elemental sorcery, they brought peace to a warring land on the brink of destruction. As the flames died, the realm needed strong leadership, and who better than the champions who had saved the kingdom? But when the people sought out their saviors... they vanished.

Matt, Blake, Jen, and Carl: the four mysterious companions, who together had deposed an insane ruler and saved countless lives, were gone—spirited back in a whirlwind of magic to a sleepy suburb in Mellbridge, Oregon, never to return. The friends found themselves home in the real world, exactly as they'd been the night they were taken, as if no time had passed... except only three came back.

Hi there! This was my entry for National Novel Writing Month, because why only write one series at a time? The more the merrier! (meanwhile, my keyboard bursts into flames...)

I'm also the writer of The Last Science, an ongoing low-fantasy/speculative sci-fi series. If you're familiar with that, you know what to expect here: lots of character-focused drama and dialogue, not a whole lot of traditional action. However, I'm writing a bit differently than usual here, and in a very different structure, so there should be some surprises for returning readers. I hope you enjoy it!

This has to be one of the best stories I've read to date, better than full length, published, critically acclaimed novels. I don't really know how to describe it, but if you feel like getting emotional, read this. You won't regret it.

Sets the standard for the 5 star review

This story was utterly amazing, an evocation of raw emotions and complex evolving characters. Amazing story flow, no highs and lows on the story, a buildup to a human, flawed ending.

This novel is absolutely wonderful. The story is absolutely stunning, realistic and engaging throughout the whole length of the novel. It's an extremely character driven novel, with hints of the characters' past shown and told to us in in a masterful way. It was a great Epilogue.

I loved it.

Does in 300 pages what most cant in 30k

If you compare Epilogue with other fictions in RR, Id say its "short" and sweet.

Excellent story & plot, the author doesnt hold your hand and dumps information on you 2 pages after the beginning.

The characters actually feel like REAL people. Im no expert, but perhaps give them even more layers?

The rest is just wonderful and very enjoyable.

Excellent worldbuilding, that it does feel as if I had read the whole adventures just from the tiny bits of info provided.

extremely interesting take on what happens after

Overall a very good story, I'm a bit disappointed that we didn't actually get to see the fantasy world but at the same time it sort of makes sense. There were, of course, things I didn't really like but you don't have to enjoy every single aspect of a story to enjoy the story itself. There were minor grammar/spelling mistakes that my mind nearly automatically filled in for. The only thing I was truly confused about was that Matt made it sound like Carl became a better person within the fantasy world early on in the story which turns out to be the opposite, he thrived within the fantasy world but he had to become a fairly bad person to do so. So, ultimately, I find the story incredibly enjoyable but it takes a darker turn towards the end that I find a rather depressing. If your looking for a light-hearted story about fantasy and magic where everything turns out great, in the end, this may not be the story for you.

Ok, I actually only came here to talk about The Last Science (the author's other work), but I checked this out on the off chance it would be just as good. And it is! It's a beautiful small scale drama between four characters that really hits the notes perfect. Pacing is a little weird, but this is a nano novel so I'll let that slide. Can't wait to see how it gets worse for the characters!

Epilogue is a refreshing take to the isekai genre, exploring what happens when those who were summoned return back to earth. Each character feels unique and real, each with their own feelings and morals.  Would highly recommend to anyone who wants something different from what they might usually read on this website! 12/10 would recommend!

Can't wait to read the next one!

This has been another great story to read on my breaks at work, except this time it's actually done! Great trio of characters, and the worldbuilding was amazing.

It's not exactly the most original world or anything but it really pulls you in. Also, the story had a brother-sister relationship that was actually well-written and felt like real siblings for once. That's harder to find than you might think :(

Realistic, almost brutally so.

Tl;dr it's very good.

'Teenagers travel to another world and become heroes' is a cliché plot that fails to address many issues about what travelling to magical medieval society would be like.

This is not the case with Epilogue. The characters are realistic in a sharp, painful way. Reading this makes you feel like you're uncovering a distressing truth, but you can't help but continuing to find out more.

All in all, I'm glad I read this and I'm looking forward to anything new the author will write.

5 Star Thriller/Tragedy/post-Isekai story

very compelling and engaging story. The Tragedy is strong with this one, i felt somewhat distressed while reading at some point.

I can really recommend this. Even though it is only those 19 chapters and i usually only dig long stories.
