Everything about my life has been pretty normal working as a forensic autopsy technician. Until the day I woke up with a mysterious symbol tattooed on my arm.

Suddenly normal no longer existed as the barrier between Earth and a world called Under, dissolved.

Now I’m trapped with dozens of other people, held prisoner by the creators of myths and legends, where the realm is ruled by two masked kings who want to turn us into creatures like them.

But even though I didn’t choose to be here, this new world manages to pull me deeper, affecting me differently than other humans. Unfortunately King Edu, also known as the King of Flames, notices this and I’m now considered a threat.

If I want to survive King Edu and the dangers of Under, I need to escape. The only problem is, there’s another masked king who seems to have an interest in me. Aon, the King of Shadows, wants me here in this world, and he wants me alive.

I just need to figure out why.

Tl;dr- it's brilliant

This is a stunning piece of work. The characters are well developed and feel like real flawed people. The interactions between them is exciting and occasionally humorous. Everything is well described and it fits seamlessly into the story without you being bogged down by information. The Grammar and spelling is impeccable .

I'm normally not keen on romance novels, but this has blown me away. I'm honestly upset that I've finished the backlog, as it feels like I now have to wait to meet a good friend again, waiting for the next chapter .

There are a few scenes some people may find disturbing, with themes of submission/domination, sex and almost Stockholm syndrome like behaviour. It's worth continuing to read because, not only is it well done, but it leads to some great character building and growth.

It's well written, unique in its execution, and has a nice mix of enigmatic and disturbing.

The take on abduction or transportation to another world is completely different from the usual stuff on this site and well thought out.

Lydia has believable reactions and acts with thought, she feels well fleshed out and alive, the poor thing...

It's occult, it's macabre, it's horrifyingly good.

The story is amazingly deep, with many twists and turns, some of which are ridiculously surprising. The characters are deep and complex, even the side characters, they all have feelings and depth. The style it is delivered in is so good that when the end of the first book came, the content made me emotional, and I pride myself on my lack of emotions! It was just F*cking amazing. There are a few errors, such as a sentnce that is structured wierd, and think instead of thing, in one of the 20's I can't recall which. However the errors are very few, and aside from them it is one of the best stories I have read on RR, easily in my top five. I have no issue with this book, other than that I have read up to Turquoise - Chapter Fifteen and there is no more when I post this review. Basically I want more. MOAAAR. *ahem* please.

I lost a whole night while reading this, because i could not stop after i started.

The story is action packed and has a differce cast. Every Character feels alive and deep. The reactions of the Characters a beliveble and rich. So much diffrent than many storys on RR.

While reading this i had the feeling i was reading a story written by a professional writer.

Keep up the great work, i visted this site for a year now you made me create a account to rate this awesome story. So more people can enjoy it.

Came over for this story from the author's work on ff.net.

This is a dark, amazing, horrifying love story.  It's characters are complicated and the MC is not a perfect person, but they all seem real and believable.  Even the ones that are 5,000 years old feel like they are who they say they are!

The characters.  I can't say enough.  It's worth reading just for them, before you get into the cliffhangers and plot twists.

There is a lot of gore.  A lot of torture.  And some sexy, sexy bits that are all skipable (but really, why would you in a story like this?)

Read.  You won't regret it.  Even if horror isn't your thing.

If I didn't know better I would say this was a edited published work, a good one at that. This is way above the normal standards for royalroad. For anyone who loves a good story with developed interesting characters and a mysterious plot that makes you want to just keep reading, I highly recommend this story.

first book is paced slow, but that isn't bad imo.  character development isn't a bad thing.  story has great twists and turns.  author has said that this is going to be a 3 book arc and we're almost done with the third one and i'm so sad to see it go.  was lurking on this site but made an account to leave this review.

better than most things on rr.  better written, sounds like a real writer, reads great.  dark, gorey, has some great erotica in it.  hope she writes more and this isn't her only story.

Don't let negative ratings get you down.

Haters gonna hate. Just keep writing, finish the story, publish it, make money and get bitches.

This is my first review so bear with me,

One of the best books on royal road, the chapters are an awsome length and I find myself getting more and more excited as a read on.

The story is perfectly paced as it tells of Lydia's life before she Is brought to Under and so its not rushed immmediatly into a fantasy world. Even when she was not in Under I thought the book was fantastic, There is also art of the characters in it which is awsome.

The story does a great job at showing not telling, Under feels like its own place and not some backround for the story, the romance is good and is great because it feels important to the story.

Overall I am loving it and will continue to read on!!

A proper story a rarity on this site. Not that power levels are enjoyable but the work of fiction seeks to tell a story more then just bask in the main characters glory. Reminds me of the mortal instruments by Cassandra Clare just accelerated. It should be a crime that this story is not the front page of popular this week.
