One of the best of RRL

OMG. Where have I been before this? Such beautiful writing that with plenty of humour grips my very soul. This is the conclusion of the third book. However the story does not seems to have ended. I yearn for more.

The overall feel of this book is comedic but full of serious adventure. It calls to question our own beliefs and conventions. A brilliant book.

The grammar had no issues. Not that I am a master of English language but after 3 books I can say there is not much errors or grammatical mistakes that would ruin the flow of the story.

The characters within the book are unique. So very unique. Each character had been given depth with no nonsense. Take the main characters for example they kept their original characters throughout the book with progressive development. The 'hero' is OP to an extent but human and frail. The Princess is vulnerable and resolute after all the trials a mediaeval maiden would face.

I just loved the story. Read the story from the beginning, I hope you would like it too.

Another sequel i can only recommend

Very engaging and entertaining story.
style, gramar, character and story depth just so well done.

There are simply not enough comments recommending this to others and praising it to the heavens :)

Though personally i feel the two prequels were marginally better as the resolution of this one felt a bit lacking. I still think it deserves full 5 stars overall

Excellent as a Standalone or Sequel

Reviewed at: Epilogue

Old Empire is the third installment of A Hero Past the 25th, and yet the series shows no signs of slowing down or losing the magical touch that make it so good. If anything, that magical feeling is ever more present.

In Old Empire, the stakes are the highest they've been in the story so far and yet not once does it lose its charm. Instead, it continues to drag you in deeper and deeper, like a siren's song. The allure of this series is absolutely delightful, and honestly deserves more recognition than it gets.

The story itself is told well. The flow of the the events that unfold all feel natural. The events all blend together seamlessly, and make a perfect standalone story or a wonderful third part of a tale, depending on how one decides to read it.

In all honesty, the grammar and style of writing are great. There are subtle improvements since Lost Paradise, and it really feels like the series itself is now coming fully into its own, allowing it to stand apart from all the other novels on RR.

The characters from the previous novels all continue to develop and grow in this novel, not a single one feels like they stagnate in time. The new comers are all interesting as well, regardless of whether one loves or hates them.

I'd say what surprises me most is how well the author consistently delivers quality, and I look forward to what will come in the future.

One of the best novels on Royalroad

It's not just one, but 4 or more novels (I need to go back and count). I really liked the characters and the authors view of the fantasy world. The lead to me had an Erin like vibe (from Wandering Inn - the best Isekai out there ;))

Here the lead character is definitely older and all the more wiser for it. Also the other characters are not cardboard cutouts. The protagonist may feel to be OP but there are always bigger fish in the pond. And that's a good thing. (No more flying whale karage please!)

After reading this as of now trilogy I am entirely impressed with both the technical and creative skills of this author. Doing an advanced rating was pointless since in every category I would opt for a 5, maybe if I was a cynic 4.5. To start we are introduced with a distant end goal, a campaign finale if you will, of the entire series assuming this continues. Then with skill I wish had for DMing a smaller arc with a sound goal and satisfying conclusion is cut out and crafted without derailing the larger premise.

Characters show change at a human pace even if some common tropes are used to make them feel real and relatable and fights are done in a style I'm used to that is easy to picture and jump around with. Truly this review is paltry in comparison to the story and I would hope those reading this go on to read these stories.

This series was an absolute blast to read and I can’t help but highly recommend this to anyone. The quality of writing, the plot, the characters... it was all great in my opinion. I really hope this series gets more attention and love cause it fully deserves it (I think how all the books in the series have a few “chapters” with a huge amount of words in them apiece can turn off people who are used to the more common RRL “regular updates of relatively small chapters”) while reading this epic action fantasy masterpiece I couldn’t help but think that this was 100% the writing of a professional author, and I was delightfully surprised to be able to read through this series without having to pay money for it!

I really just cant recommend this series enough so just go read it. The first book is “A Hero Past the 25th” with this one being the 3rd. It’s just too good, and maybeee, hopefully the author might have time to continue with the series, because that would make my day.
