When the highly anticipated upcoming video game Kingdom Shattered announces a raffle to decide invites to private beta testing not only the game, but also the next generation of full immersion gear, he immediately applies and ends up winning a slot to become a beta tester.
Leaving his apartment and part-time teaching behind he heads to the game company's headquarters where the entire event will be broadcast live, with each player earning money off of the amount of viewers they are able to obtain while alive. On top of that, the first place player will walk away with a one million dollar grand prize.
With his eyes on the giant cash bonus, Harold is determined to do everything he can to make it to the end and walk away with the grand prize. Will he be able to conquer Kingdom Shattered and become its first King?

Currently too short to justify an advanced review but very worth the read so far.
While not inherently unique or different, it is certainly unusual, in a good way. From the few chapters that are published at the moment, it certainly appears like the author does indeed intent to focus more on the RTS aspects, instead of the RPG ones. It kind of reminds me of Dominions 5, in a sense, with all the different races and unique units, which I hope are fleshed out.
The characters are not fleshed out yet, but they have a solid foundation for future growth. The grammar is flawless, except for one or two small errors, like missing apostrophes, but nothing noticeable or distracting. The style is still a little stiff, in my opinion, and the begining of chapter 5 is a bit hard to understand, but nothing major, and I am certain that it will improve.
What I really want in the future is a unique experience of growing the MC's faction, with their own unique buildings and units, and not just rehashed buildings that all races share, like stables and barracks.
i love the story too bad the author seems to have forgot about it D;
