(Oneshot) I Shouldn't Have Pretended to be the Female Lead
by ars
Some dude falls into another world and decides he’d rather live as the Heroine than go out and fight to death as the Hero. He might have changed his mind if he’d read the terms and conditions, though.

Wow
This was a one shot and I didn't really know how it would go but wow.
It might be short but does it ever deliver.
It takes a cliche of fantasy and twists it on its head with humor and grace.
And it ends just at the right time too, wonderful!

Entertaining read

Loved this story. Concise, entertaining and the pace was just right.

An incredible short story

An uplifting tale from a different perspective than the typical isekai. Any other description would ruin the magic. Just read it.
Recommended for everyone - take 5 min and read it.

Pleasing
I had a good laugh.
It's a simple, short story, about a hero (man) who looks like a girl, choosing the safe path of holy maiden, became the inspirations for many (three actually) young heroes to defeat the Demon King.
Is it a masterpiece? Compared to many novels out there.... ofc it's not. There are still many spaces for improvements.
Is it enjoyable? Damn yeah why the hell do you think I even bothered to write a review? I rarely wrote one and I felt the need to write it for this novel.
Keep up the good work and keep improving, author. I'm rooting for you!!

Good potential, if not rushed

Grammar: The grammar has a few small issues, but nothing major that takes away from the story. Overall I don’t think it’s much to complain about at all.
Story: Story is rushed, and while it lays a solid foundation with an opening and two twists, it all comes so close together that it’s lacking in build up for any of the key moments, making them slide off rather than hitting home. I understand that for a short story there is a limited amount of writing to flesh out those elements, but it was also the choice of the author to make it this short while including this many different ideas and moments in it. I feel as though more is needed for all of it to reach it’s full potential.
Character: Again, another area that suffers from the unnecessarily short format. The protagonist has an arc, in a manner of speaking, and one clear personality element, but both they and all the important side cast characters come across as very one dimensional, the moments of the story hinging all on a single element that controls everything rather than having well rounded and complex characters.
Style: The style leans too heavily towards stating events rather than showing them, which doesn’t complement the plain style of prose very well. Even a lot of important moments for the plot and characters feel bland because of the simple and short descriptions, and again, the overly rushed feel of the pacing that shows even in elements like dialogue.

Good Short Funny Story

This was extremely enjoyable. Had a "bleurgh" day, and this became the perfect cure.
The jokes were just right, it flowed straight to the point, and it parodied the right stuff at the right places.
It's short, but it's worth the read for the laughs and giggles.

A good short story.
I recommend reading it is a enjoyable story and one of the best one-shot I've read.

Pretty damn satisfying
No i just need a long 1000 page version of this shiet
thx

Short but worth it.
I mean... Don't a lot of people pick the female lead just for that very reason?
10/10 loved the suprise at the ending
Gives a great lesson, when you've beaten an enemy just kill it so no one Snipes your kill

Expected nothing and got surprised.
I only went into this story because it was so short, as the premise didn't look that appealing to me (you can only read so many bad 'isekai' aka transported to another world novels, before feeling tired of them). Thought that even if it was a bad one, I can just finish it fast and go to sleep. Got pleasantly surprised in the end. Story flows well and the jokes were well executed. I must say that I usually dislike forced anime/weeb humor, but in this case it at least didn't outstay its welcome and the small part where it was in, only made the story better. All in all a solid 5/5
