Oh new pictures. Nice summary!

TideBreaker @TideBreaker ago

Nice one! Waiting for the new chapter.

Paladino @Paladino ago

I think the original image for Gwen better.

Stormblessed @Stormblessed ago

My image of Gwen overlaps more with the second one, though that's my personal opinion ;P

When was the retcon on healer?

Quote:The Elvia girl was the invisible sort, but it seemed her existential uncertainty had now come to an end. Clerics are a rare bird in any neck of the woods, as it required simultaneous awakening in Evocation and Transmutation schools, with the added caveat of having an affinity for the Positive element. Elvia’s blessing of a hybrid Awakening meant that she'd be fast-tracked to attain what common healers would spend a good twenty years trying to accomplish. Elvia - made special by her twist of fate, had become a cherished class of individuals that existed beyond social strata, for the world was always short on healers.

I very much prefer the picture used for the novel front, because i'm so used to evisioning Gwen as that. The picture you used doesn't show the same naive intelligence and the picture in the author's note would be better but not better than the novel front.

Henry Kaine Foster Kilroy - He is currently deceased. Currently.

    Andur @Andur ago

Giving away way too much there... Please no DBZ revival!

      mephi @mephi ago

I'm thinking more along the lines of a certain Void sorcerer using some necromancy....

But Henry's body was left with a scale of a certain giant serpent... known as a source of life giving magic and a kind of creator god figure...  darn it!

      Beyogi @Beyogi ago

Dude that was foreshadowed the moment it was state his corpse was being held in stasis. You can call back the souls of the long dead and you can revive bodies of the recently deceased. Henry's body will stay recently deceased for a long time.

      Jockster @Jockster ago

Yeah, Resurrection can revive him. However, Gwen would certainly face many risks trying to find and convince a necromancer capable of using a tier 7 spell.

His body is still old too; he wouldn't live that long after being revived. If Gwen resurrects him, it would probably be to create new happy memories together and part with him in a "less tragic" manner.

      Andur @Andur ago

As far as I understood it, he was barely holding onto life thanks to being powered by Sufina's life energy. If you forgot.

If he doesn't manage to reconnect with Sufina, he would give up the ghost within days.

      drakenclaw @drakenclaw ago

Well, there is this scale from a really powerful serpent, enchanted by a master enchanter.

He was wearing it at the moment of his death. And now it is in the possesion of Sufina together with his well preserved corpse..............

      Andur @Andur ago

Doubt it will help him. Gwen's grandpa enchanted it to be a bloodline item for her, so it shouldn't even activate if she doesn't will it to.

      Beyogi @Beyogi ago

You don't need a Necromancer to do that. It was already mentioned healers could also cast ressurection. So basically Elvia needs to level or grandma needs to be bribed.

      dan kirkby @dan kirkby ago

Resurrection is a Necromancy spell though, and that is certainly not a school of magic that is in favour, though honestly Gwen's so suited for it it's scary, void and conjuration? If that isn't a recipe for Necromancy bi don't know what is (though necromancy is a a schoolbof it's own and might have nothing to do with conjuration, who knows)

      Andur @Andur ago

But wouldn't Henry be nothing more than a Lich in that case? I doubt that's desirable.

      lnx @lnx ago

      - Resurrection is a Necromancy spell [...]

In some sources like Pathfinder it's Conjuration. Either way it does not create an undead creature, it restores somebody to life with full health. The penalty is usually one experience level, whatever that means in this story.

Heck, even Raise Dead, a lesser spell, might work if the corpse is considered recently deceased.

      Deathless Henry indeed.

      Beyogi @Beyogi ago

Raise dead should work since Sufina is keeping the corpse in stasis.

      Mearhena @Mearhena ago

I don't quite remember... did Elizabeth use Void when killing Henry, or was it sacrificial in nature? If so.... his body may be considered desecrated. In which case we'd need a Wish to resurrect him?

      Beyogi @Beyogi ago

I think he was life drained? I don't think any sacrifice going beyond that was involved.

Arkeus @Arkeus ago

Also, didn't we just hear chapter 158 that Richard was T2 abjuration?
