Hi everyone, really, really sorry for disappearing on you guys, illness lead to a deep depressive episode that I'm still struggling with.
Been thinking about coming back to revamp/finish writing Artisan and noticed a kind reader pointing out my work has been stolen and published on Amazon.
The offending novel is The Artisan by Jon Moremont - obviously a GoT fan who didn't even read the blurb properly and put a wizard on the cover.
Just wanted to let everyone know that this book has nothing to do with me, and has no new content.
Thanks, and sorry again - LF
Skills, level-ups, powers, crafting, and base-building.
Releasing a chaplet daily, ~1,200 words.
It is 2054 and unemployment is at an all-time high. In the era of the quantum computer, autonomous systems have taken over as the backbone of the workforce. Justin, 20 years old and unemployed, has nothing holding him back, and since his government stipend will cover the expense, he signs up to play Imagitech's brand new game: A Time of Heroes.
Justin has never been that into multiplayer games, but for a full-immersion virtual reality where he can play a Superhero, Justin is definitely in.
'Superheroes and Villains are on the rise in an alternate America of 2020. Forces of good and evil must band together to control the future'.
Justin plays Artisan, an alien AI trapped on Earth.
Inventor, hacker, and gadgeteer to a team of heroes.
Hope you enjoy.

so far i love this story. The main character is cool and his supporting cast is multi-dimensional, which adds a lot of depth to the story. the pace of progression is good to.
my only complaint isn't really even a complaint and its that i want more. give me more!
please come back i miss you.
while this story is dead, i am reviewing in hopes of someone taking inspiration from it and make their own. one of the best superhero stories i have ever seen, uniqe and funny, logical and engaging. its a crying shame that the author disapeared. human playing AI have never been done this well, op power is balanced by being properly ballanced even in a pay to win world. AI is having AI problems.
Overall: The premise of the story appeals to me a lot. Crafting focused, detailed skill progression, good use of blue screens, and great start. It is very early in the story at the time of this review (only 28 pages up) but the story is high quality.
Style: The author's style is easy to read and the reality is full of future possibilities.
Story: Only just begun but it has had a good flow of tension.
Grammar: A few slight mistakes, but they've been promptly fixed leaving the story flawless so far.
Characters: The main character so far has been depicted well, showing his potential flaws as well as virtues.
Overall it is a very good story, its up to chapter 24 act 1 cleaning up part 5.
Read it all in a single sitting and was actually surprised I hit the end so quickly. The 120+ pages went by so fast it felt like I had only read 40-50.
Very good use of blue screens, not overused where half the chapters word count is repeated stat screens. Well implemented concept, like-able characters. I could say a lot but suffice it to say that the story is just downright fun to read.
Releasing smaller but more consistent "chaplet's" was definitely the way to go. You show up on the recently updated more often, getting more people exposed to your story, and also having more people read consistently so you end up getting on the "popular this week" area as well for even more exposure.
I'm a huge fan of consistent daily releases. When I saw the daily releases I was immediately ecstatic. Having something small to read every day is much preferable to having to wait 7 times longer for something only 3 times the size.
Also, the crafting focus appealed to me as well.
Keep up the good work, cheers, cant wait for the next chaplets.
While AI reincarnations and superhero MMOs do already exist , this particular combination of a story is a novelty to me.
I write this reviev while there are 48 chapters out already and the progress this story made is impressive.
First off , the customisation and character build options the VR game provides are quite expansive and you pulled it off without building in discrepancies that could lead to plot holes or completely imbalanced builds. A game like this could be pulled off in real life without the people complaining about balancing issues too much, other than it being pay to win.
VR stories also do have a small ammount of it taking place in real life and you have solved these usually boring sequences with a bit of foreshadowing, which makes me look forward to the MC's next few off-times.
The team of the MC has individuals with a realistic personality , each with their own ambitions , history and flaws. While at this point you havn't introduced everything about them, you still gave us plenty of hints about what is to come. Character building is always a never ending work in progress and your pacing is apropriate for this story type in my opinion (I'm not an expert :P ).
I can't say much about grammar , by now you have probably noticed lots of mistakes in my own text, so there is no way I can judge yours fairly other than giving out full marks because I was unable to notice any mistakes in your grammar.
Overall, 5 stars , I believe you have a plan for your story and if you keep going and don't let the quality drop you have a good chance for one of the top spots on this website for your story.
This was a good story and even two years later i hope that you will return
The main character is interesting, the supporting characters have some depth, the plot makes sense, and the grammar is good.
This story is amazing and it feels almost completely different to every other superhero story, or even any story period, that I have ever read. The author provides vivid descriptions of the world that allowed me to become completely immersed in the world, and most impressively the author has managed to make each character in the story feel completely different in a way that suits their character. This story has thoroughly impressed me, and I look forward to seeing what the author comes up with in the future.
Grammer mistakes are nigh nonexistant, Characters are given enough screentime that you form a connection while Interludes happen with enough infrequency that the MC is not overshadowed. It was and still is a really good novel. Author hasnt neen active for 1 year and 8 months as of this post. His last? message was about having the flu.
This book is really good. Thank you! Please keep writing. Need to find out what happens to Artisan!
