Headshot! has just gone live, and the whole world's playing. Unfortnately, unless you can buy your way on to the Survivor's side, you can only participate as a Zombie. Every week the Apocalypse starts over, and every week the forces gather once more to tear each other down to the bone.

Ryan's played the Beta for months, but now that his favorite game has launched, he finds it consuming his time and his life, even as he struggles to decipher whether or not there's actually a way to succeed if you're not willing to Pay to Win...

(Author Note: I'll be putting up chapters as I write them, and once the whole thing's complete I'll leave it up for a little while prior to its publication on Amazon.)

Love the aspect of underdog zombies fighting back!

First I love the aspect of a underdog version survivors.

Two I love how you brought in the aspect constantly that the Survivor's have something to lose and we don't. And that us poor guys are trying to get back at the rich. it's done well. I also love the story of his ex. so funny.  Also love the thinking that goes through his mind while thinking of work, and ditching it. ahahaha.

Keep going man. Love you're work.

P.S. really curious what's going to happen at the end of the week. :p

Fantastic LitRPG story so far! I am at the part where the system is shutting down for maintenance. What a cliff!

I don´t understand the bad reviews. Have they even read the story?!

Bullshit game mechanics

It's a No Man Sky and Evolve level failure in game design and mechanic.

The MC is a zomzom aka zombie because he is using a free account. The premium accounts gets to be the survivor. Not much right?

Game Mechanic:

1. If you die then you have to wait for the weekly reset. Yep, you need to wait for an entire week before you can play again.

2. Zomzoms can't talk with each other so there goes team work. Maybe in the later levels they can through hive mind or something so good luck surviving.

3. Zomzoms get hungry and they die from it. Good luck finding food because they are hard as fk to find.

4. People can still kill you if you log-off so good luck finding a good place to hide.

5. Slow type zomzoms, maybe the faster ones will come but again good luck surviving from hunger.

6. Zomzoms get passive xp gain but it's slow as fk. It gets faster if a survivor gets closer to where you are hiding.

I didn't bother reading the other chapter since those listed above turned me off.

Interesting LitRPG Concept

This story takea an intersting look at the LitRPG concept by using a zombie apocalypse game setting. Overall the story as of chapter 17 seems to be progressing well and is internally consistant with the game logic.

Take a walk on the other side....

Great story! And I normally avoid zombie stuff like.....cough cough, the plague. It says a lot that I am reading this story and have bookmarked it, waiting for the next chapters to drop.

An unusual character POV and take on LitRPG, Zs, sociology, psychology, game theory, and maybe things more Machiavellian if I am correctly getting the hints.

I read some poor reviews for this book, some of the criticisms sounded like sour-grapes that the story did not develop in a way that was expected or "normal". Apparently,  since giving the review, the "un-prepared" of the reader population have weeded themselves out, and the "Survivors" remain to read on. But I do think they did a disservice to the author and the story, so I want to balance that out a bit. The criticisms didn't appear to have any patience for story development, forgiveness possible future editing and corrections; and there was no tolerance for any divergence from established tropes and game mechanics.

While I do see some plotholes and other issues that were pointed out they do not seem nearly as problematic, unexplainable, or in some cases unplanned, to me as indicated in the reviews. Sometimes you gotta just enjoy the ride, have faith in the author's plan, and patience for the development of hidden or slowly unfolding plots and character development.

Fair warning, there are numerous typos, from misspellings to out and out using the wrong words, but the meanings are easily understood. Other than that the grammar and style are good.

This is a pretty good read.  It fits with the modern world pay to play disparity, and adds in some pretty funny eat your friends face mechanics.

Grammar is good, longer paragraphs though they could still be combined in places.

The story plot is simple "don't get killed", easy enough, but works really well.

The MC is a point of view of your average guy a few years out of school, and kinda vague like real life doesn't matter, because He Is his Character.  Goes with the storey, i expect more depth introduced as we go.

There are a few zombie pov's on royal road, most of them get op pretty fast.  By chapter 20 the mc is not op, and not lucky, relying on planning and paranoia instead.  This makes me rate the story higher because there is no golden boy factor.

*sigh* I loved this work, but apparently it's been taken down. I hope it will come back some day.

One of the best damned fictions

This story begs to be binge read. The grammar is almost immaculate and there are very few typos. The events and scenarios in this story are gripping. The main character lacks a bit of development, but I feel that it helps me empathize with him. Thank you so much for the story, I'm looking forward to reading the rest of it!
